I believe gay marriage is wrong and immoral in society. If god created man and woman to be fruitful and multiply, how can that be achieved in a homosexual marriage?
SNP1

Pro

Con argues that it is immoral and unbiblical
This leaves con with the BoP to show:
1)It is,in fact,immoral
2)The Bible is accurate

Another point to make is that the USA is a secular nation,it is not to make laws based off of religious reasons

In the Supreme Court case of Cleveland Board of Education v. LaFleur,it was stated
"freedom of personal choice in matters of marriage and family life is one of the liberties protected by the Due Process Clause"

In 2010,US District Judge Vaughn Walker said the banning of gay marriage(in regards to proposition 8 in California)was
"unconstitutional under both the Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses"

In 1888 the US Supreme Court ruled that marriage is a fundamental right
Article 16 of the Universal Declaration for Human Rights states
"men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion... the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution"

Key word in one of your statements was men and women of full age MEN AND WOMEN. You were not giving the opposite sexual part for no reason. As for it being immoral, it is wrong to show young kids that it is okay to like other boys, would you like your son liking little boys as a young child. I know its 2015 and were suppose to be changing but gay marriage should never be allowed. Also a kid should not be raised by two of the same gender its a reason we have two parents(diffrent sex)
SNP1

Pro

"Key word in one of your statements was men and women"
When it says men and women it is not making it a single subject, it is making it 2 distinct subjects.
It is like the following two statements:
Women have the right to marry.
Men have the right to marry.
Neither indicates straight marriage, and you can combine the sentences like this:
Men and Women have the right to marry.
Men and women would be separate subjects. If one wanted to make it heterosexual marriage they would say it like:
Men and women have the right to heterosexual marriage.
OR
Men have the right to marry women and women have the right to marry men.
It does not indicate heterosexual marriage.

Con also asserts it is wrong to teach you son it is alright to be gay. He provided no evidence for that.
Would I mind if my son was gay? No.

Con also asserts that a kid shouldn't be raised by a gay couple. He did not support why that is.

In conclusion:
Con failed to refute any of my points and has not supported any of his own.

And God Is NEVER mentioned in ANY of our documents, im not sure where you got that but its COMPLETELY false. The only time even RELIGION is mentioned is to say that we shall not ESTABLISH one.

Actually shaduwarsenaal youre wrong about America being a christian nations, the founding fathers were deists meaning they believed in a god but not one of a particular religion, some actually DESPISED Christianity. And the "One Nation Under God" thing you are quoting wasnt added to the pledge until 1954 and "In God We Trust" wasnt out national motto until 1956 we were specifically a non-religious nation. Our values were based off of Roman and Greek laws and systems as they created the democracy and republic. We are most certainly NOT a christian nation.

6 points to Pro (everything except S&G). Reasons for voting decision: Pro made better points and backed up claims with legal precedent. He did not give links to sources but his remarks are all traceable by name so that is okay.

[*Reason for removal*] (1) Failure to explain conduct. (2) Insufficient argument point explanation. Too generic, i.e. "better points." Backing up claims with sources goes to sources point, not arguments. (3) Insufficient explanation for sources. No explanation for how Pro's sources were *better* than Con's. A mere statement that Pro had some good sources is not sufficient.

7 points to Con. Reasons for voting decision: America, contrary to what SNP1 thinks, is a Christian nation founded as "one nation under God." How can it not be when God is mentioned in the Declaration of Independence, Mayflower Compact and in the American Constitution. Also SNP1 got a little to cocky and incorrectly assumed the Constitution uses the same definition of marriage she used Besides the fact, I am a Christian and I will support the Bible over any man-made law or court.

[*Reason for removal*] (1) Argument point vote is blatantly based on personal bias. (2) Failure to explain sources, conduct, and S&G.

shaduwarsenaal, can you actually vote based off the debate? Also, how is the US a Christian Nation when the founding fathers said countless times that it wasn't?

6 points to Con (everything except S&G). Reasons for voting decision: Snp1 had used sources like supreme Court cases in round 2 and con FF

[*Reason for removal*] (1) This person voted for the wrong side (SNP1 was Pro, and if Con forfeited, you vote Pro). (2) Failure to explain argument points. A single round forfeit is not sufficient to award more convincing arguments.
