What does it affect other people if gays get married. They have done nothing wrong. Come on they are born with it. I really want to debate somebody who does not believe that gays should have rights for themselves

Unfortunately the character limit is 750. So I am trying to make this short.

Marriage is the only right put forth so far, so I will assume that is what we are debating.

All I can say is that "Gays" are not being left out, they have all the same rights as heterosexuals, no one is receiving special treatment.

Sigh..A copied first and second argument.

First off they DO have all the same rights for themselves.

2. They are not "born with it" Darwin's theory of evolution stands in contradiction to that.

3. the definition of marriage is a man and a woman.

4. Laws and definitions should not be changed against the will of the people.

5. My opponents argument also suggests that pedophilia, necrophilia and polygamy should be allowed, which it clearly shouldn't.

Please put some time into your next round.

Lets just say this. I don't think there is proof of homosexuality being cause by a gene but it isn't impossibe for that to happen. 99.9% of all sexually genes are not in the x or y chromosomes. That means that all of us have male and female organs in our genes and that homosexuals can develope if genes are read improperly.

I hate to say it but alex_hanson911 is doing better at this debate than debatecrazzy.

"Both parties *should* be happy"

Excuse me if homosexuals don't accept your holy gift onto them. It's degrading to them to be offered a severance package of marriage, which translates to "You're good, you're just not as good as us." and it's condescending.

Furthermore, it's irrelevant if marriage is a religious institution. A long time ago citizens gave up the legal aspects of marriage to the government, ergo it is up to the government to decide irrespective of what Christians or Mormons might say. The government has a constitutional obligation to treat all its citizens as equal, therefore allowing them to marry as they please so long as they're both consensual adults.

"So you think that the bible should be the only definition of marriage?"

Actually, marriage has always been a religious institution.

When there is an alternative for homosexuals yes, I see that as the only fair way. They get the same benefits, the ceremony remains the same like it was created for. Both parties *should* be happy. And it is the only right way

We can play the Google game all day long, but the fact remains that there is substantial circumstantial evidence suggesting there is a 'gay gene', or rather a group of gay genes. At the same time, we have not fully identified all of them and we cannot take into account the 'nurture' aspect, which can account for some variance in statistics.

Also, an overwhelming amount of what we know about our body, especially our genes, was never tested on humans. The use of lab animals is critical for us to know anything about ourselves, as we share over 90% of ours genes with some animals, therefore it's incorrect to brush them off.

"And that's very interesting, they assert, because a related gene exists in human beings, although there is no evidence yet that the human gene has an effect on sexual preference. "

No evidence that it has any effect at all on humans..

Also, nobody has done gene transplants on humans, so obviously thats not the case with us.
