No, America is not a democracy. A democracy is a system where everybody is involved and in this case some people's voices are not heard. For example, in the video Washington, minority vote immigrant's votes are not heard. Everybody should be the same and equal. Also everybody knows what happens everything is just done by the important people and they don't let the voters know what is going on.The governor is going for a certain party and that is all it matters for them. Gerrymandering should be reduced this is only causing political problems for the people. Everything should be planed to make everything equal so that the community is together and there is one voice and strong. Gerrymandering is basically changing the boundaries according to favor for the parties by drawing the lines. Another thing is prisoner can not vote so there is an about 96% people that was not allowed to vote. According to gerrymandering if you lived next to a prison you had more influence. The negative connotation is being used by unfairness involved in favor of one party to another. Everything should just be talked to the people to make everything easy.
I'm going con with you because it is true Gerrymandering does take way the democracy from America especially since we have no control over the elections. Our voices are not being heard no matter how united we stay or how many protest we do we always get denied. When Gerrymandering stop's the citizens will have more control not the government. This affects our votes because they go by the unequal lines that they draw in a map. Since it is favoring the republican party in the long run it affects democrats and citizens that don't have a parties side. Gerrymandering is negative itself because of its unfairness and inequality, this show how much power the government has over the citizens. At least the people from the prison are being heard but it doesn't affect them it affects the citizens.
