Ghosts are not real, because sometimes others can trick people into believing there are ghosts in the world, they can just sneak into their house and make noises.

Although, I agree that there is a kind of energy or spirit/soul that leaves your physical body when you die.

It is just your inner fear. For example, if you are alone in a room, you might get a little nervous. This causes the person to be more aware or looking for things they normally wouldn't see.

Ghosts are a particular manifestation of a belief in life after death. Though the specifics vary among groups, a ghost is generally understood to be the disembodied spirit or soul of a once-living person. Sometimes the spirit belongs to a deceased animal.

A ghost is said to linger on earth when the person died in a traumatic way, or when his burial ritual was disturbed before it was complete, or sometimes just because the spirit feels like it. Pesky or disruptive ghosts are called poltergeists. Some groups believe that ghosts are actually demons, or evil angels.

Not all belief systems around the world allow for spirits or souls that linger on earth after death, but some do. In fact, many do. The concept is popular in spiritualist circles and many Christian faiths as well. With so many theologies that allow for an immediate spiritual life after death, it is no wonder that ghosts are so popular. - See more at: http://www.truthaboutdeath.com...

What Makes it Possible for Someone to see a Ghost?

Ghosts can be seen through clairvoyance, a psychic ability that allows us to see dimensions that are not accessible through physical sight. Clairvoyance is also the ability that is used to see auras and energies.

Another possibility is that the extraphysical consciousness gathers enough dense energies to the point it becomes physically visible. This process is called materialization and requires a source of dense energies and a ghost with an ability to work with those energies. The source of dense energies can be a living person, a group of living people and sometimes animals and plants. Materialization would also allow for other types of interaction with the extraphysical consciousness, such as physical touch or even a handshake, raps, and other noises, however a full materialization is a phenomenon that happens less frequently.

Materialization and clairvoyance are not mutually exclusive and sometimes happen in tandem, in a phenomenon called semi-materialization. In this case, the ghosts will make their astral body (psychosoma) more dense, but not to the point that it becomes visible through the physical eyes of the observer. The densification of the psychosoma of the ghost makes it easier for someone to see it through clairvoyance, since this type of psychic ability allows an easier observation of dense energetic manifestations. Since semi-materialization requires less energy, it tends to happen more frequently.

may I say that when you where in school the law of conservation of energy states that : Energy is neither created or destroyed only transferred or transformed. so when a person dies where does the energy that person had goes? I believe ghosts are real I have had encounters before and so has my entire family. A person makes energy by taking glucose (a sugar) and cellular respiration occurs resulting in ATP (adenine tri phosphate), an energy carrying molecule, which then gives the energy needed to go through the day, BUT when a person dies abruptly (like most ghost stories) where did that energy go? It couldn't have gone to the other parts of the body because you have died. That energy could not have disappeared it had to have gone somewhere so I just believe that it stayed in loop and remained that persons essence, but in a more energy prone style. I also say this because ghost have been known to mess with electric fields and drain energy from other objects in order to do things that's why ghost hunters always use EVP (electric voice phenomena) recorders, EMF(electro magnetic field) detectors, or spirit boxes, so yes I strongly believe they exist.

"I agree that there is a kind of energy or spirit/soul that leaves your physical body when you die." After you say ghosts (spirits) are not real. I'm assuming you mean like the white pale translucent figures scaring people and throwing books and stuff around?

If the instigator contends that there is some variety of spirit or soul that leaves the body when they die, what is keeping that spirit or soul from then inhabiting a house rather than a body?

In the first round, pro gives plausibility to the very thing that they affirm does not exist.
