God created everything, it even says in the bible. I am looking for someone else to debate me in this and all my comments are : This will be a good debate.

As pro is making the positive claim, it is his burden to show that God created everything.

Having said that, as I cannot argue over what has yet to be posted, I will examine where the evidence leads us to believe about the early Universe.

If you are in a pool, and tap the surface of the water at a constant rate, you will notice waves going at a constant distance apart. If you start moving your hand, the wavelength would decrease in the direction you are moving. The same thing happens in a car. The engine produces noise. As the car moves towards you, the noise sounds higher than it is because of the increased wavelength, and as it goes away from you it sounds lower, because of the decreased wavelength. This is a property of all waves known as the doppler effect.

The dopplar effect applies to light as well. If a source is traveling towards you, the light will appear move violet than it normally would, because violet has the shortest wavelength of visible light. If it is traveling away from you, it would appear more red than normal.

If we look at the redshift of other galaxies, we see that, with the exception of a few in our cluster, they are all red shifted, meaning that they are traveling away from us. Given that they are traveling away from us going forward in time, it is concluded that they would be traveling towards us if we look back in time. Eventually this would reach the point where all matter was one point which began expanding.

Well,Gizmo, if you support the big bang that's fine. But it says, on the first page of Genesis, God created everything. So even if the big bang did exist, God would have made it.

Actually, in the beggining there was a void, with a black winged bird, Nyx. Nyx laid an egg which hatched, giving birth to Eros. Half of the egg became the sky, while the other half became the earth.

The gods are actually the grandchildren of the earth and sky.

I would like to point out that gizmo is using mythology to prove his claim. That in turn is merely a belief. Your usage of religion shows that god did indeed create the world. In a way, science does help to prove that god did create the world. The bible is merely a documentation of how the world and the universe was formed, in scientific terms. It was gradual, but indeed extremely fast paced. So in a way, like Samuel George said, the struggle between big bang and god has been solved many years ago without the hard mathematics.

I would like to point out that your claim is mythology.

My use of religion does not show God created the world, I picked Greek mythology specificly because it was the only one I could find where the world created God. (Actually, the world created the Titans, who created the Gods.)

If you would like to present evidence for why God created the world, go ahead, but until than my claim that a giant bird is the father of the world, and the great grandfather of the Gods is equally valid.

First Gizmo, I am a girl. Second, why a bird create the world? Greek Mythology is a MYTH. The gods do not exist. No void either. Only God. And nobody knows where god comes from. It's a Christian belief that God was there before anything else, even the void.

You still have not provided any evidence to backup your claim. Unless you can provide evidence to prove Christian mythology, it is equally as valid as Greek mythology.

here are some examples of Christianity mythology.

Things shared with the Hebrew Tanakh

* Cosmogony
o The 7-day creation week narrative (Genesis 1-2:3)
o The Eden narrative (Genesis 2:4-3:24)
o Satan's revolution against God
* Origins
o The Fall of Man: Although the Book of Genesis does not explicitly mention original sin, many Christians interpret the Fall as the origin of original sin.
o Noah's Ark
o The Tower of Babel: the origin and division of nations and languages
* The life of Abraham
* The Exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt
* The Hebrews' conquest of the Promised Land
* The period of the Hebrew prophets. One example is the apocryphal part of the Book of Daniel (14:1-30; excluded from the Protestant canon) that tells the story of Bel and the dragon.

The Christ

Main article: Jesus Christ as myth

* The Gospel accounts of Jesus Christ, his life and death. Here the narrative is combined by the author with a story of how all Christian theology "came to be". For example the story of Jesus as the "word" or "Logos" (John 1:1), the Incarnation of the Logos or Son of God as the man Jesus (e.g., Luke 1:35), and Christ's atonement for humanity's sins (e.g., Matthew 26:28). Important narratives within the Gospel accounts include:
o Christ's miraculous conception and birth from the Virgin Mary
o The baptism of Jesus
o Satan's temptation of Christ
o The Transfiguration of Jesus
o Parables of Jesus
o The Last Supper
o The death and resurrection of Jesus
o The Ascension
* The Acts of the Apostles - the story of the Early Christian church, the ministry of the Twelve Apostles and of Paul of Tarsus.
o The descent of the Holy Spirit on Jesus' disciples after the Ascension.

Eschatology

Main article: Christian eschatology

* The coming of the Antichrist
* The Second Coming
* The resurrection of the dead
* Judgment Day
* The final and total establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth

So, you see Christianity mythology does exist and that is proof

I think I need to clarify. I am not arguing that Christian mythology does not exist, what I am arguing is that it does not accuretly explain the origin of the Earth.

The gods aren't the children of the Earth, they are the grandchildren. The titans were the children.

And its not stupid, Greek mythology is much more interesting than Christian.

Though I believe the Bible is true you need to point out some things about the red shift and how using a observation of every way known to man of how that could of happened. Through this the Bible gives the best explanation of how the universe came about. God spoke and this became as they are expanding form the singularity point that God started everything at. Though the Bible is a good source you should prove your point be other subjects like the one he brought up in his first speech.

And the gods being born from earth is retarded if you truly think through it as I did earlier.

Try out logic otherwise he is making you look foolish at the moment.

I wish I could debate gizmo1650 on this, that would be fun!

Reasons for voting decision: Both sides were bad, and gizmo1650 loses points for writing about the Doppler effect. A potentially interesting debate between creationist theory and big bang was averted, though Con at least showed the weaknesses of popcornfreaq's arguments more than vice versa.
