Atheism is more a theology that is based on science. But god exists because we've created. He does not exist on a material level, but exists on a spiritual level in the collective mind. Biblical writings are nothing but some examples being treated symbolically and not scientifically. So yes, God exists and as long as there will be people who believe in good and harmony between peers.

if god exists why do we have no proof if there is no proof then there for he does not exist. the bible is written by a believer some do not believe

I do not understand, for you God is only the God of the Bible? There can be a supreme entity that we could call God, and we call it God to don't stay and think about other names? Do not just think about Chiristian God and Bible when you hear God, stop materializing Him, maybe then you will understand that God can exist in the absence of dogma.
Here is a quote about our lil friend Pascal.
"If I trust in God and He exists, gain infinite. If I trust in God and He is not there, lose anything. If I do not trust in God and He exists, lost forever. If we trust in God and he isn't there , again no loss. "

God exists because he's a character in the bible, rather than a being in real life. Now that's an interesting take on this. However, it's a truism that cannot be argued against, even with semantics and kritiks (unless Con successfully argues that the Bible doesn't exist or something).

"'...If we trust in God and he isn't there , again no loss.' "
No loss? What happens to cults that performed massive suicides? What about "holy wars?"
I don't think that believing in something is bad. However, that is only when their belief doesn't become too strong.

It would be simple to create an elaborate illusion to make the pope believe the rapture is happening. It does not take much to fool an old man. If you believe that this is even possible 1/10000 attempts....then it proves the the belief in god itself is an illusion that you choose to believe.

There's nothing that can, or will, prove God's existence. The Bible isn't supportive evidence, as it contains contradictions and could very well be mere scripture. The only thing that could prove God's existence is God himself, but he doesn't care enough to show his existence. It's more reasonable to doubt him at all.

The Christian God and Islamic God are the same.

There's no evidence that he doesn't exist either.

Which type of God are you debating for? The Christian God? The Islamic God? Norse Gods? Greek Gods?
