For this debate the question will be whether there is a God. I will be arguing for the existence of God. God will be defined as the most powerful and knowledgeable being in the universe. However I will have to show why these definitions are the way they are. The burden of proof will be shared equally, whoever's logic is more sound will win.

The rounds go as follows:
1) Introductions and acceptance of debate
2) Opening rounds
3) Rebuttals
4) Closing remarks

I look forward to a good debate as this is my first time defending the existence of God.

This should be a fun debate as I am a Christian. Good luck to my opponent.

Nothing witty this time; just extend the evidence stating that robot unicorns live in a secluded village in East Africa, spending their lives plotting world dominaion by means of rainbow invasions.

Sorry Mestari, got caught up in homework the past couple days. Would you be willing to do this debate in say 2 weeks? If so create a debate and I will gladly debate you.

Abusive semantics are strong with this one. The light side of the force must prevail.

I'd like to, however, I leave for vacation tomorrow for a week and will not be able to really commit to a debate. I am in one now, yes, but I plan on waiting until the last minute to post any argument. If this is still open when I get back, I'll snatch it up.

I imagine the strategy to be thus:

Given your definition: "God will be defined as the most powerful and knowledgeable being in the universe" you then argue:

Theere are a finite number of entities in the universe, therefore there must be a "most powerful" and a "most knowledgeable" being.

Which is a trivally easy argument to make.

However, I'm of the opinion that there exist rebuttals to this line of reasoning and it, alone, is not sufficient to prove the premise. Hence my temptation to accept the argument.

Im confused as how it is a semantics win

Semantics win for Pro. You need to change the definition of God by elaborating it to include the qualities ascribed to the Judeo-Christian God.

If anybody wishes we can change the definition of God to the traditional Judea-Christian. I simply did the most powerful and knowledgable because that's how I personally define it.

No offense, but "god" is poorly defined. It's like arguing the existence of the "T-Rex", which is defined as the biggest lizard in history.
