I will demonstrate that gun laws do reduce violence. Beyond increasing crime, easy access to guns increases suicide rates and deadly accidents. I will employ various arguments-- relying on empirical evidence -- in supporting my case.
Kollo3250

Con

Gun laws don't reduce violence if your giving everyone the chance to hold violence for we have no control over others.Self defence is not the way everyone will take this.

16k adams, you are correct. I should not have made it 48 hours, that was overly optimistic. Way too much came up this weekend. In my defense, this was my first debate. Lesson learned. From now on, 1 week.

@Jack, are you arguing that gun laws reduce crime or violence? If you merely want to debate whether it reduces violence or not, you may want to alter the resolution, but If you want to debate both, continue.

Varrack, I've noticed it's tough to win a gun control debate on this site. It seems like, I'll completely crush my opponent and still win just by the skin of my teeth. I'm honestly done doing them.

They reduce gun crime, but not overall crime. Overall crime is a much more important issue, so though I'm tempted to accept I suspect that Pro would argue for gun crime as affirmation of the resolution and somehow twist it on me.

Gun rights are ***not*** only about limiting crime. Sorry, going 40 hours no sleep.

Great issue, but sad debate title. Gun rights are only about limiting crimes. This will turn into a battle of links for whoever accepts this debate.
