First off I would like to thank whoever excepts this debate

Defentions:
Guns-A firearm/a weapon that uses some type of explosive in order to launch a projectile
US- United States of America
outlawed-made illegal or against the law/ making it a crime

Now I contend that guns should not be outlawed because

1. Constitutional Grounds
First off we are guaranteed the right to bear arms by the second amendment by taking that right away you are stripping us of our liberties and more importantly you are inviting the government for a chance at tyranny for once we do not have the ability to fight back then they can start imposing whatever they want on us and we will be unable to stop them

2.Self Defense
There are 304,059,724 people in the United States there are 111,550 state officers (or officers that will respond to you when you call 911) in the entire nation thus if we divide 304,059,724 by 111,550 you get 2725 people per one officer let me remind you this data assumes that every single police officer is on duty 24/7 so there is less than one on duty police officer for every 2725 in the United States and a recent court ruling stated that
"fundamental principle of American law that a government and its agents are under no general duty to provide public services, such as police protection, to any individual citizen."
so who will protect us when a criminal (who dosen't care about the law so they may have a gun anyway) threatens us robs and beats us then finally kills us while the police are responding to a million other calls

3.Personal Experience and Logic
There was an incident in a little state called Utah which had a city named Salt Lake City and in this city was a mall called Trolley Square and one day a guy named Selujman decided to walk into here with a shotgun, handgun and backpack full of ammuntion and decided to start opening rounds into innocent people miracoullessly only 5 people were killed what can explain this miracle perhaps it was because the shooter had really bad aim or maybe the ammo was defective but i think the most likely reason of all was because
someone else at trolley square had a gun and returned fire which kept the shooter from shooting others due to the fact he had to focus his attention on the guy firing at him
now lets think about something else what would've happened if someone at Virginia tech had a gun or someone had whipped out a handgun during the Columbine shootings

with that I put the ball in my opponents court

I do not actually agree with the resolution. I'd love a gun.

"First off we are guaranteed the right to bear arms by the second amendment by taking that right away you are stripping us of our liberties"

The constitution can be amended. Also the right to own guns can easily interfere with our right to life which is obviously more important.

"and more importantly you are inviting the government for a chance at tyranny for once we do not have the ability to fight back then they can start imposing whatever they want on us and we will be unable to stop them"

Why would we obey laws set by those who we are trying to fight back against? That wouldn't be fighting back at all.

"so who will protect us when a criminal (who dosen't care about the law so they may have a gun anyway) threatens us robs and beats us then finally kills us while the police are responding to a million other calls"

Making guns illeagal would make them much harder to come by which would make it far more difficult for the criminal to rob, beat and kill you. A cross bow would make a good replacement if you're that worried. It might even serve the purpose better, because they are not that common and the criminal probably wouldn't be prepared for it

"one day a guy named Selujman decided to walk into here with a shotgun, handgun and backpack full of ammuntion and decided to start opening rounds into innocent people miracoullessly only 5 people were killed"

And how many people do you think he would have managed to kill had he not been armed?

The murder rate in the US is much higher than in countries where guns are harder to come by. Examples being Ireland, Italy and Spain. For this reason, Guns should be outlawed.
