Should an individual go unpunished for attacking another individual? In most cases the victim is attacked for things that are simply out of their control.(Race, Ethnicity, Sexual Orientation, ECT.) I negate today's resolution that Resolved: Hate crime enhancements are unjust in the United states.

People do go punished when they make crimes in the US. They work better than many countries. There are many punishments to every crime.

Okay but we are talking Hate Crimes specifically not other crimes.........
Hate Crime enhancements are just because, people who commit crimes against others just because their black, or gay, or are from Iran is not just. It's just another reason Americas unity is falling apart......
Again thanks for accepting this debate dude!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the confusion.

This hate cime punishment is one of the most harsh punishments in the US. They take away the person's freedom. That is not unjust. America's unity is not falling apart because of hate crime enhancements.

No dude i was stating that hate crimes just further segregate america because that just shows how hateful people are tword each other.
Hate Crime enhancements are just because people are going to see how they will get worse sentences because they are hating on people for different reasons.
People dont have a choice to be gay or not, or what their race is, ect.
proaz

People can also not have a choice to hate people by race or not. Its just a natural instinct. Hate crime is a small reason for why the United States is separating

There are very serious punishments for hate crimes in most states in the US. So I am not sure what exactly you want done to people that commit a hate crime.

I wasn't sure what was meant by that, but it makes a lot more sense to me now.
