Everyday we hear of a new scandel,
Today a national high street bank laundering drug money.
The Leveson enquiry and how happy the government are to let ordinary folk and celebreties be abused by the newspapers.
Top stars abusing children and much more, still 2 women murdered everyweek by violent drunken men, last years riots, hundreds and thousands of drunken young people making our town/city centres no go areas for many citizens and this being carried out in most cases by British people.

Shouldn't we welcome immigrants and their religions and hope they can reawaken our religious spirits.

Firstly, I would like to thank my opponent and those who read this debate. I hope it shall be enjoyable and shall interest everyone involved.

I disagree with the resolution. The fall of morality has nothing to do with a lack of Christian virtues, but the decadence and corrupt nature of Capitalist Imperialism exerting its force upon us, bourgeoisie expropriating with no regard for mankind. Capitalist decadence and gluttony has caused a permissive purge in society attempting to appease the proletariat, well I say workers of the world unite!

Capitalism promotes permissivism

Capitalism promotes permissivism. It is an ideology promoting the individual of being able to do anything, including abuse other individuals, in the name of promoting freedom. The freedom that's being promoted is the one to abuse others and steal and cheat. This is the cause of people being drunk all the time, being decadent gluttonous mindless drones: the Capitalist idea that we are entitled to this.

Capitalism promotes egoism

Capitalism is built on the idea of warfare and competition. It is warfare between yourself and your peers, between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat, and in wars between your nation and the enemy. Further, Capitalism also is based on competition. Competition between you and your fellow man: breaking down the natural bonds we all share to help each other but instead promote your own interest of the moment to harm them and make yourself better in the world. Capitalism, then, promotes selfish egoist thought, separating you from your fellow man and insulting any communitarian form of living. This is why people act for themselves and with no respect for their fellow man, and the collapse of morality.

Capitalism goes against aid

Historically, Capitalism's emergence was one to promote the bourgeoisie emerging against the serf/noble system. This system was bad, but in some cases could work due to the noblesse oblige, or the idea that those in charge have a duty to those below them and give them aid, and allowed the promotion of the lower class for their own values and further the human race. However, Capitalism abandons noblesse oblige and with it any responsibility for the proletarait. It promotes the ideologies distinct from science or evidence and instead the self-interested values of promoting self-worth and self-indulgence with no care of who you are stealing from. Capitalism promotes the idea of helping others, and isntead helping just yourself and ignore all those dying around you.

Capitalism is the cause of riots

When we are stamped on by the boot of Capitalism, people revolt, joining either the revolutionaries or the lumpenproletariat. Each group plays a role in fighting Capitalism and destroying its decadency. This is one of the causes of the riots: poverty, suffering, and disenfranchisement. With the overhaul of Capitalism, and the removal of any hegemony and authoritarian consumerism we shall finally be able to abandon crime and suffering in society.

To conclude...

The hegemony of Capitalism, expropriating surplus value from the proletariat assaults and offends freedom and morality. The Resolution is about whether Christian Values' abandonment is the major cause of the drop of morals in British society. Instead, I argue that Capitalism and its advancement and expansion is the major cause of the drop of morals in British society. A nation with a rich history of socialist thought from Robert Owen to Karl Marx to Bernstein and others, we have the knowledge to save us in our grasp: we only need to reach out and take it.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro made no attempt to equate religious adherence with moraility, while Con made an intelligent and well-structured rebuttal. No wonder Pro forfeited.
