Television was once a new form of media.
The internet was once a new form of media.

Both allowed for quicker more efficient transferring of news and gossip. Snail mail and the Pony Express often took days or weeks to complete the same task new medias can spread GLOBALLY in a few minutes.

I mean, my argument was short, but there isn't anything else much to say.
