We should all be supporting and using hemp products whenever possible, and especially instead of wood whenever possible.

Hemp:

  • Green and environmentally valuable; insect resistant (no pesticides needed)

  • Generates in 4 to 5 months and is ready for harvest (trees take 10 years)

  • Used to create superior materials than does wood

  • Has been used to create superior clothing, paper, textiles

  • Is considered an effective medicine (containing CBD, or cannabidiol) for seizures, Alzheimer's, and other neurological disorders

  • Is considered a super nutritive food containing many essential omega 3 oils

  • The founding fathers of our country grew it and used it to make rope, canvas and fine papers

  • The first auto body panels were made from hemp and were very strong and lightweight

  • The first car-burning fuels were made from hemp

A lot of folks don't realize that hemp was demonized by William Randolf Hearst (Remember Orson Wells in Citizen Cane?) because it threatened his logging industry. He used his vast media empire to spread lies and the disceptive "Reefer Madess" era propanda, use his millions to lobby and influence congress and was ultimately successful in getting it outlawed and banned nationally.

Im sorry, i just have to say, this debate is extremely stupid. I should not have to even argue against the mass use of hippee-plants as it is indescribably wrong. 1. kids will begin to smoke their toilet paper if it is made out of hemp 2. This smoking of toxic substances will make them act irrationaly, thus becoming satanist, terrorists, prostitutes, or some unearthly thing. 3. Are you trying to send GOd's children to Hell. He created us in His own image, an image which drugs are tampering with. You, sir, are undoubtedly going to hell.

Theologicalchristian obviously decided it would be entertaining to himself to create an account, accept this debate challenge, make some irrelevant statements and then delete his/her account. Theologicalchristian's statements are reflectory to a small segment of illiterates of our society, plagued by propaganda and probably lacking the education necessary to know any differently. How sad. How can anyone not recognize the wonders of the hemp plant?

Reasons for voting decision: Con forfeited, used ad hominem argumentation; Con did not use proper grammar; Pro offered plenty of points defending the use of hemp, to which Con only provided two legitimate arguments against. No sources were used by either arguer.
