@Tej and fire

The resolution is "hi". Therefore Pro is advocating "[the abbreviated] friendly greeting of 'hello'".
Pro has the BOP since he is a proponent of that and is making a positive claim.
Con's burden is to negate Pro's arguments made advocating the friendly greeting (hi).
Therefore, since Pro didn't argue, Con wins.

There's no "BOP" when there's no "resolution" -- your vote makes absolutely no sense. BOP varies depending on the resolution, so it's dependent on what the res. is. When there isn't one, there's no coherent way to vote on the BOP...

Reasons for voting decision: This is a horrible debate. The only words both sides had said was "blank" with exclamation mark. If this better, I would have gave conduct to Con, conduct because Pro is mimicking what Con says, even the exclamation points, which is bad conduct for a debater. But, I will leave this a tie because both sides did a horrible job. Please improve your skills, and actually think of a good resolution. I can give some good resolutions if you can't think of any.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro had the BOP as his side made a positive claim. Due to the fact that neither side argued, neither side could advance any burden. Since Pro had a larger BOP than Con, Con wins this debate as Pro was obliged to prove more and failed to fulfill that obligation.
