I am personally a Republican and despise Hillary Clinton.

That said, I have been watching the Democratic nomination unfold and am baffled that Hillary hasn't run away with the nomination already. She is far and away the best candidate. If you watch any of the debates, Hillary is clearly the most knowledgable and prepared. It seems like Obama just throws around a lot of optimistic rhetoric, while Edwards panders to the 'middle class' (who doesn't think they are in the middle class).

I'm not trying to claim she is most electable, but I do think it is obvious that she is the best candidate for the job on the Democratic side.

For those of you who are reading/judging this, I will be supporting Bill Richardson as the best candidate. Although he is no longer campaigning, he is on the ballot in all primaries, which means that he is still a viable candidate. Therefore, if I am able to prove that we ought to prefer Richardson over Hillary, you then should vote for me.

1) Hillary is not the best in the debates. If you claim that she is, you might as well say that you also it enjoy it when you ask people direct questions and they totally ignore you, which is exactly what she does. For example, in the Facebook debates she responded to the question about the mistakes she's made by talking about the different issues Democrats and Republicans debate about. If that makes her a good debater, than Bill Richardson is should be crowned the champion of all debaters, because he actually gave a logical response to the question. This is just one example- when Hillary is asked questions on anything, she dodges them.

2) Bill Richardson has more experience than Hillary. Although being First Lady might have been fun, screwing a President is not synonymous with experience. Bill Richardson spent 14 years in Congress, was the US ambassador to the UN, and has been the Governor of New Mexico for the past 6 or so years. While Hillary may be capable of leading the country, I'd most certainly feel a lot safer with Richardson as a President. Also, Governor is more like President than Senator. Richardson is the only one of the candidates who has actually led, making him the best choice.

3) All of the other candidates speak of change, but only Bill has produced it. He has create 80,000 jobs in the state of New Mexico, negotiated the release of a journalist held hostage in Sudan, and has New Mexico on track to exceed Kyoto in the next couple of years. With six years in the Senate, I doubt that Hillary (or any other candidate) can claim results like these. Hillary's claims have just as much backing as either Edwards' or Obama's. Richardson is the only one who can actually back up what they say with substantial evidence.

4) Hillary got extremely frazzled by the campaign trail. Although I do admit that the media has blown this up way too much, there is some logic behind the frenzy. If a few sleepless nights led her to get that upset, how would she have dealt with 9/11? What would it do for morale if we had turned on the TV that night and seen her whimpering about how evil the terrorists are? What we need is a firm leader and her emotional outburst shook the image of her as that person.

5) Hillary is the least personable of all of the candidates. While personality may not be what we look for in a President, for better or worse it dictates how the country votes. Her vitriolic attacks on other candidates have led some to question her, which has definitely contributed to her lower than originally expected numbers. Bill Richardson, personality wise, is perfect for the job. Look at the Facebook debates- he used a good combination of jokes ("I've been to hostage negotiations that were more civil than this") and his seriousness (discussing education in the United States) to win over the crowd.

Unfortunately, the country likes to hop on the bandwagon and vote for candidates who other people support, leading to the low numbers of great candidates such as Richardson, Kucinich, Biden, and Dodd. Voting "con" in this debate means that you substantially look at the issues in this debate and not just at the popularity of the two candidates.

1) Debates

Thats true of any candidate. Every time Richardson gets a question he turns it into a joke or rambles about how hes "takin on the Koreans!". Richardson spends the entire time listing his resume, whining and pleading about how no one is acknowledging how awesome he is. All this while Hillary cites facts and gives detailed analysis of complex situations. She could be faced with the most obscure question and she illustrates how well-versed she is in the field. For instance, when asked about the sub-prime mortgage crisis, Clinton responded with a reference to 15-year-old obscure legislation and gave little-known, but highly relevant examples of how she would fix the problem. As you watch the debates, there are at least half a dozen questions where the rest of the candidates are like"...what she said." I'm not denying that she question daodges, but who doesn't. At least she is out there giving relevant information instead of using cander, jokes, and a broken record resume'.

2) Experience

While Richardson is well-versed, Clinton's entire life has lead to the presidency. She didn't fit the traditional mold of the first lady. She independently met with foreign leaders, initiated policy, and gained irreplaceable insight as to what its like to be PRESIDENT. I think the best way to prepare yourself for a job is to witness it first hand for almost a decade. Its not as if she hung curtains for 8 years.

Although Clinton hasn't been in the Senate as long as Richardson, she has infinitely larger amounts of experience and more accomplishments. She is ranking member on multiple committees, including the Armed Services Committee.

Also, experience doesn't mean they are best fit for the job. While Rishardson may have a more lengthy resume', Hillary's is more qualified. She has shown on the campaign trail that she is the most knowledgable Democratic candidate and has studied ways to solve problems.

3) Change

In what way are any of the things you talked about change? Change is passing legislation in a minority Congress, like Hillary did for the first six years of her Senate membership. She has championed healthcare, reform, and civil liberties. All of this in the face of a Republican majority. Richardson may have done a great job in NM, but Hillary has accomplished more for the entire nation, and she did it by overcoming the kind of adversity Richardson has never faced. Overcoming adversity is the road to change. Hillary has much more experience doing that.

4) Personality

Emotional outburst? She shed a single tear after a women asked a particularly moving question. Polls show this has made her MORE human and personable. As far as her where-with-all, her body language during the debates is by far the strongest. When off camera or not answering a question, Hillary is attentive, sitting up and focusing on the speaker. Richardson is slouched and absent.

Hillary's personality is more presidential. The America people don't want the guy telling jokes at the bar to be president. Hillary recognizes that a president, especially the first women president, needs to be strong and professional, not the class clown. Richardson himself admits that one of the reasons he ran is because he thought the American people wanted someone with some candor. Polls showed this isn't the case. Hillary's personality is much more presidential and that 'emotional outburst' made her all the more appealing, not to mention, her gender makes her more personable by nature.

There is no question that Hillary is the best candidate on the Democratic side. She has better experience, is more presidential, and is clearly the most knowledgable, aware, and versed candidate.

Voting in this debate means you have voted for who argued better, not who you agree with or want to disagree with.

In debate after debate, Hillary proves she can best apply the Democratic platform. She has the most substance and the most knowledge. Hillary seems to be the candidate who can best cut through the rhetoric and attack problems. Though I think she attacks them in the wrong way, personally, she is obviously the best Democratic candidate in terms of presidential aptitude.

While I personally don't agree with her on much, Hillary has demonstrated that she is the top Democratic candidate. She is more versed on the issues and can best apply the terrible socialist change that the Democrats thirst for. We haven't received any rebute of any of teh arguments I presented. Hillary might not run a very clean campaign, but there is certainly no reason to support Richardson over her and the polls and results indicated this.
