Cultural literacy is fundamental to establishing a strong communication between people. Cultural literacy is referred to "the network of information that all competent readers possess. It is the background information, stored in their minds, that enables them to take up a newspaper and read it with an adequate level of comprehension, getting the point, grasping the implications, relating what they read to the unstated context which alone gives meaning to what they read" as Hirsch stated. Literacy is essential for successful communications. Without cultural literacy communication will not be as effective as it should because things will not be understood. Literacy can only be learned if a higher individual teaches it as Hirsch said(6.2).
Problem-posing allows people to develop their human natures fully because it depends on dialogue, recognizes the relationship between people and the world, encourages discovery and creativity, and leads to transformation. Friere states that the "banking method" is a way for students to be told information, not necessarily taught. He believes that the only right way to learning is through camaraderie and communication with a teacher, rather than to have one superior to the other. Freire states that to truly commit to ending the banking method, is if the students themselves reject it all together.
You said, "the only right way to learn is through camaraderie and communication with a teacher, rather than to have one superior to the other".
In such a situation there is mutual learning, but false or inaccurate information can be mutually taught and learned. How can someone teach another if they do not know the information is accurate. Where do either the student or teacher in the problem-posing acquire the information to teach another? In using the banking method the superior has degrees and certifications that allow them to teach. They went through years of learning to be able to teach. Hirsh states (6.2), "Our children can learn this information only by being taught ( referring to common knowledge) . Shared literate information is deliberately sustained by national systems of education in many countries because they recognize the importance of giving their children a common basis for communication". Common information must be taught by a superior who knows the information they are teaching.

Whose to say that someone is right all the time just because they obtained a degree or certification. Problem-posing helps students prepare for the real world such as facing situations that require them to understand and think critically. The teacher should be cognitive in the sense that they should be helping the student by coming up with ways that they can do it better themselves, while at the same time the teacher is learning new ways to help the student. Thus, making them both able to learn from each other and both to be creative, in that sense.
The purpose of education is to teach people how to think utilizing the vehicle of learning things.(Psychologytoday.com) Proper education in areas such as reading and writing are essential for learning a language that is crucial for communicating. "1.4 Why is literacy so important in the modern world? Where communications fail, so do the undertakings (That is the moral of the story of the Tower of Babel.) The function of national literacy is to foster effective nationwide communications. Our chief instrument of communication over time and space is the standard national language, which is sustained by national literacy". If people are teaching each other and there is no authoritative person giving the instructions wrong information will be passed along and taken as truth. This can lead to bad reading, writing, and pronunciation. Teachers with certifications are assumed to have more knowledge than the students, that is why they are the ones teaching. A proper teaching of language is what enables people to communicate and understand each other. http://www.psychologytoday.com...
The purpose of education is to teach people how to think for themselves, not just feed them with basic information that they wont know how to use when the time comes. Camaraderie comes in to place where student and teacher both work collectively, rather than a student being taught certain things as if they were being "programmed". Freire brings up an interesting point where he compares the love of the banking system much to the love for death i.e. necrophilia. As stated by Freire,"The necrophilous person is driven by the desire to transform the organic into inorganic, to approach life mechanically, as if all living persons were things"Memory, rather than experience; having, rather than being, is what counts." What he"s saying, in my opinion, is that in order to achieve true comprehension and education of all the matters in the world, one must simply experience it, not just be told facts and expected to memorize it. As humans, we can"t grow that way and the banking system cripples our students" ways of thinking and learning by forcing them to do just that.
