This debate questions if the idea and concept of homosexuality is morally and logically sound.

I take the stance that homosexuality is immoral and illogical.

My opponent will take the stance homosexuality is moral and logical.

BOP is shared.

Homosexuality: erotic activity with another of the same sex. (1)

Erotic: of, devoted to, or tending to arouse sexual love or desire. (2)

Moral: concerning or relating to what is right and wrong in human behavior. (3)

Logical: agreeing with the rules of logic : sensible or reasonable (4)

First round is for acceptance only. If you post even the slightest argument, it will cause a seven point drop and victory for me.

F/F will cause a seven point drop unless early in the first and second round.

Definitions may not be changed. If they are, it leads to a seven point drop.

Good luck!

Debate Round No. 1

Thank you for accepting this debate. I am looking forward to an interesting debate.

Case 1. Animalistic Morality:

When we look at the basic role of species, it is clear they have a natural desire to carry on the natural process of procreating to carry on the species. This aids evolution in this ever changing world we call Earth. We humans, are species on this planet Earth. Being gay totally violates the right we have to the world to carry on the species and our evolutionary process. If you still don't understand, think of it like this. What if the ape that held the mutation that started the process to which we became humans, somehow became autonomous, and chose to be gay? The answer is simple. The human species wouldn't exist. This leads me to my second point.

Case 2. Not Natural:

The majority of the species of animals aren't gay or lesbian. If they were, the species would stop and destroy itself unless they could reproduce with any gender (which humans can't). If it were natural, then people and animals can reproduce with the same sex. If your parents were gay/les, then you wouldn't be alive.

Case 3. Downsides To Being Gay

There are many downsides for children of homosexual parents and homosexuals themselves. A quote from my first article:

"There are eight outcome variables where differences between the children of homosexual parents and married parents were not only present, and favorable to the married parents, but where these findings were statistically significant for both children of lesbian mothers and "gay" fathers and both with and without controls. While all the findings in the study are important, these are the strongest possible ones--virtually irrefutable. Compared with children raised by their married biological parents (IBF), children of homosexual parents (LM and GF):
"Are much more likely to have received welfare (IBF 17%; LM 69%; GF 57%)
"Have lower educational attainment
"Report less safety and security in their family of origin
"Report more ongoing "negative impact" from their family of origin
"Are more likely to suffer from depression
"Have been arrested more often
"If they are female, have had more sexual partners--both male and female

The high mathematical standard of "statistical significance" was more difficult to reach for the children of "gay fathers" in this study because there were fewer of them. The following, however, are some additional areas in which the children of lesbian mothers (who represented 71% of all the children with homosexual parents in this study) differed from the IBF children, in ways that were statistically significant in both a direct comparison and with controls. Children of lesbian mothers:
"Are more likely to be currently cohabiting
"Are almost 4 times more likely to be currently on public assistance
"Are less likely to be currently employed full-time
"Are more than 3 times more likely to be unemployed
"Are nearly 4 times more likely to identify as something other than entirely heterosexual
"Are 3 times as likely to have had an affair while married or cohabiting
"Are an astonishing 10 times more likely to have been "touched sexually by a parent or other adult caregiver."
"Are nearly 4 times as likely to have been "physically forced" to have sex against their will
"Are more likely to have "attachment" problems related to the ability to depend on others
"Use marijuana more frequently
"Smoke more frequently
"Watch TV for long periods more frequently
"Have more often pled guilty to a non-minor offense" (1)

This is astonishing. There are so many downsides to having LGBT parents for these poor children.

Many LGBT people have been proven to show increased aggression towards intimate partners. A quote from the article:

Psychological Aggression is a common and serious problem in LGB relationships.
We reviewed psychological aggression among LGB individuals.
We identified several definitional and methodological concerns.
Several recommendations are offered to advance this area of research.
" (2)

Another study addresses many other problems LGB may face.

"Higher rates of major depression, generalized anxiety disorder and substance use or dependence in lesbian and gay youth.

Higher rates of recurrent major depression among gay men.

Higher rates of anxiety, mood and substance use disorders, and suicidal thoughts among people ages 15 to 54 with same-sex partners.

Higher use of mental health services in men and women reporting same-sex partners." (3)

Thus, this proves that if you're going to be gay and have all the problems, it is very illogical. It is also considered immoral to cause others like your partner and children these pains, so it's also immoral.

I have proved that being homosexual is both immoral and illogical.

I hand the debate over to Pro.
