Leviticus 18:22 - "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable."

Above is one of my favorite verses in the Christian Bible. Why? Because it answers a very popular question in a very simple manner: is being Gay wrong?

Yes, Homosexuality is very wrong. Why? Because it is unnatural. Don't you think that if Homosexuality was natural, boys could get pregnant from other boys? Here is another verse from the bible on Gays:

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor HOMOSEXUAL OFFENDERS nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

AKA, Homosexuals (lesbians included) are damned to the eternal fires of hell.

I now wait for a worthy opponent to face off with me.

Biblical morality is hopelessly outdated and often immoral by modern standards. Therefore the Bible is not a fit source for moral guidance.

Example:

The Bible accepts slavery as a reasonable feature of everyday life. The Bible advises us not that slavery is immoral, but how to treat a slave justly. I do not follow Biblical advice about how to treat my Slave. I accept the Enlightenment thought of John Locke:

"Every man has a property in his own person and this no one has a right to but himself."

I am a Hicksite Friend (Quaker) and we believe that spiritual revelation is ongoing. The Bible is a source of spiritual revelation and a source for glorious poetry, pornography, history, and horror stories. As such, we must pick and choose carefully when we read the Bible. To accept a book like the Bible as moral guidance, wholeheartedly and in total, in which it is an acceptable rule that a blind or crippled person must not approach the altar is just silly.

Homosexuality is a human sexual variation. It is not a choice, an opinion or a sin.

I extend this challenge from George Fox:

'The scriptures were the prophets' words, and Christ's and the apostles' words, and what, as they spoke, they enjoyed and possessed, and had it from the Lord. Then what had any to do with the scriptures, but as they came to the Spirit that gave them forth? You will say, "Christ saith this, and the apostles say this," but what canst thou say? Art thou a child of the Light, and hast thou walked in the Light, and what thou speakest, is it inwardly from God?'

Whose morals are we talking about? If he is referring to Christianity's morals, even they cannot agree on what is moral and what is not. From smoking to drinking, watching T.V., listening to secular music, ect. The cannot agree and THEY USE THE SAME BOOK!

Any person that votes for pro is an idiot considering it appears that their main argument is attempting to use some sort of criterion BASED UPON A FALLACY.

http://en.wikipedia.org...

To summarize, it's a fallacy because it's a type of ignoratio enlenchi because something being natural is not the same as it being morally right.

Furthermore, I'm not sure which translation of Corinthians they used, but the Bible is not so clear as to say homosexual offenders. The word there I believe is arsenkotai, a word with quite an infamous history when it comes to translation.

Response to Georgster101

Excellent response. Straight to the point and factual. What is natural to man is what man actually does, not what man says about what he does. When we can be saying exactly what we be doing, we have acheived enlightenment IMO.
