Human enhancement is wrong, because according to hplusbiotics the child's personality will affect the outcome of their lifestyle. Their personality cannot be ensured through human engineering. Hplusbiotics states that personality is a complex interplay between genetics and environmental factors. They also state that their personality will have a lot to do with the environment in which they grow up in.

We should be able to use human enhancers because if you look at them now, there is already a lot of them. You have alertness enhancers (caffeine). You have athletic enhancers (steroids). You have sexual performance enhancers (Viagra). So what will be the big deal if we add the baby enhancers.

It is a big deal to work with child enhancement because it is not about any "enhancers" it is the fact that we are basically trying to design the baby of your dreams like it is some sort of toy. It is also bad because these children won't entirely be able to be who they want to be in life, instead they will have to be what their parents want them to be. According to genome.gov these children will be genetically engineered to fit the needs of their parents. Genome also states that these procedures would be intended to modify non pathical human traits, so in other words it would kind of be like mind control. The regular genes in the child's body may be superseded and the only way that can happen is if somebody like a genetic engineer were to genetically modify the cells to do so.

Children should be given the chance to live a healthy life as said from wordpress.com. With designer babies, doctors can go in and design the baby to not have any cancer or genetic diseases so that the baby can live a healthy lifestyle. They could also screen out embryos that are potential at having a genetic diseases.

Yes children should be given the right to a healthy life but designing them to your benefit is not even giving them a chance to have a fun life. These children may not even have a good physical stature to be able to do these specific things. According to nature.com these doctors can not assure any kind of results in physicality. This will also go back to attitude as well, if there is no drive to do the physical activities then their bodies will not be as built as their parents want them to be and there will be no good results in athletic achievement. Nature.com also states that there has to be a physical drive to start with, these children will not just have perfect attributes to everything their parents wanted, nad the procedure will have been a mistake in the first place.

Without the help of doctors creating designer babies, parents will not have the right to promote the overall health and well being of their children with genetic modifications as wordpress says. Also you can modify you kid to be a big athletic kid while also making him smart. You cant say it isn't fair because if you had the choice to get genes that were perfect pretty much anybody would do it.

Yes they would have the CHANCE to promote the overall health, stature and smarts of your child bu the doctors also cannot completely promise that these things will occur. Also these children wouldn't even really have a true life. As calpoly.com says, these children are living for their parents' goals instead. They also say that these children could sometimes be described in life as mindless drones whose only purpose in life is to serve their parents or their "master". These children do not have much of a choice on their own as to who THEY want to be and what THEY want to do in life.

Saying that children do not have the choice of their own is misleading behind the fact that they can say and do whatever they want. If your kid was genetically modified to be the greatest football player alive, he doesn't have to pursue that dream. Remember that these genetic modifications do not change you kids thoughts. He could think and behave like a normal kid but he will be a little more stronger that others. Also these genetic modifications can increase human life span up to 30 years. They will prevent genetic diseases such as down syndrome. Also you kid could have a perfect healthy life all around as said from blogspot.com

Yes they Might be able to prevent those diseases bu doctors can't exactly promise any results. As stated by slate.com we do not have the exact technology that we need to be able to do things the exact way we want to do them. If these children do not come out exactly as planned their parents may have some real issues with that. This may lead them to sue if it isn't to their liking. This could also take an emotional toll on the parents and the child, the child not being able to fulfill their parents' dreams may be a little too much to handle. The parents may also be unsatisfied and possibly put the child up for adoption ultimately concluding that the procedure should not have even ever happened.

With all of these improved scientific advances, ethical viewpoints should not cease the advancement of these technologies as said from wordpress.com. Parents who disagree do not have to engineer their child. Even if you are able to genetically engineer your child, there will definitely be limitations and laws put on this. Also, this genetic engineering installs a better understanding of genetics for scientist and biologist. With all of these advances, doctors would also be able to identify the gender of the embryo after being fertilized for a few days as said from blogspot.com. If anything, genetically modifying babies would help the world. There would be not negative affects.
