Con

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to make two points:

1) My opponent plagiarized:

He did not present an argument. He simply presented a link to another website to explain his point. Even though he provided a source, he did not actually make an argument to win. Simply copy and pasting someone else's information, arguments, or ideas to present as your own arguent is always plagiarism.

This is generally a full loss. My opponent makes no argument and loses conduct at least for plaguarizing.

2) Humanism is not a religion:

This is an exerpt from the article that my opponent posted: "Look to science instead of religion as the best way to discover and understand the world."

That is the full sentence. The best way to say it is, "[Humanists] look to science instead of religion as the best way to discover and understand the world."

My syllogism goes as follows:

P1: The religion option in the profile section of DDO is for people to identify their religion or general belief or disbelief inGod.
P2: Humanism is not a religion nor expresses a belief or disbelief in God.
C: Humanism should not be added as a religion in the profile section of DDO.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct - Con. Pro both forfeited multiple rounds and plagiarized. Both of which justify a loss of conduct points, hence Con wins conduct. S&G - Tie. Pro didn't even write anything... Arguments - Con. Pro had the BOP, and instead of presenting his own material and rebutting Con's opening round, he forfeited for the remainder of the debate. Con was able to provide several arguments which all remained standing unchallenged. For these reasons, Con wins arguments. Sources - Tie. Neither utilized sources in this debate. Pro forfeits his right to sources due to them being presented as an argument in and of itself.

Reasons for voting decision: Pretty straightforward win for Con, as she was the only one to present arguments. Sources and conduct to Con for plagiarism.
