The human body is related to its most closest relatives being the monkeys and apes. The design of the human gut; its length and overall distribution of digestive organs suggests that humans are best suited for a diet of fruit. The opposable thumb and tactile fingers which have nails are very similar or if not, exactly the same to that of the monkey and ape species. These inevitable facts suggest that humans should be eating a diet similar to monkeys and apes. The fact that humans get sick and have many diseases which do not normally occur in nature, tends to suggest that humans have strayed from their natural diets and have paid the price of this deviation.
If humans were meant to eat meat, then, nature would have endowed humans with claws; with many long pointy teeth with are separated by a gap; a very short digestive system and a very acidic digestive system to kill any bacteria from the decayed animal proteins. But, alas, nature did not provide us with any of these required attributes. Thus, eating meat will be difficult for our digestive system and will cause many problems such as osteoporosis, arthritis, heart failure, constipation and gastric reflux.
If humans were meant to eat grains, then, nature would have given humans a crop in their throats to predigest the grains. Birds need grain because it provides high octane fuel which is required for achieving flight. Humans do not need high octane fuels for walking and running. Grain causes a sugar overload which causes insulin over production which can result in sugar diabetes, tooth decay and other problems. These problems may include - inflammation, inhibit nerve growth and cause nerve injury; disrupts endocrine function and genetic expression; leaky gut syndrome - allows gut bacteria to enter the bloodstream; rheumatoid arthritis; multiple sclerosis; asthma; chronic fatigue syndrome and depression.
The human digestive tract, or "gut" as the Pro stated, is actually designed to process proteins from all sources. We sport a "medium length digestive tract which provides flexibility to digest both vegetation and animal proteins."
Additionally, we have both "flat molars for grinding and sharp front teeth developed for tearing".
Our saliva also contains "carbohydrate digesting enzyme amylase; responsible for the majority of starch digestion".
These features are common among omnivores, as opposed to herbivores with long digestive tracts and square flat molars; these are seen in animals such as cows and sheep.
Furthermore, opposable thumbs, fingers type and nail structure have no proven distinction of use outside of general use and protection when it comes to any of the homo species.
According to the National Institute of Health, a number of, even most, illnesses humans see are due to cross species virus transfer, which is a relatively new phenomenon: HIV 1 & 2, Influenza, SARS, Avian Flu, Bubonic Plague and many more. Additionally, it is accepted that most illnesses seen in humans today are through cross species virus transfer due to exponentially increased human/animal/insect/rodent/etc. shared living spaces. This has nothing to do with human diet. In fact, the evolution of human diet has increased our immune systems, fighting off illnesses which evolve into new viruses in order to survive within human vessels.
The features described by Pro; claws, long pointy teeth, short digestive tract and highly acidic enzymes are identifiers of CARNIVORES, not of OMNIVORES. These are two completely different dietary categories. Homo species did not evolve to the characteristics as they are omnivores, not carnivores.
Osteoporosis is the inability to produce new bone cells at the rate they are lost, leading to weak and brittle bones. Bone mass reaches peak in your early 20"s; the peak bone mass is the key factor in how likely you are to develop osteoporosis, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Diet is generally incorrectly categorized as CAUSE of osteoporosis, instead diet is discussed here for calcium intake to help slow the development of osteoporosis.
Arthritis is caused by two main components: osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis according to the Mayo Clinic, neither of which are caused by diet, but instead are due to immune system attacking your own body, obesity and repetitive physical contact.
Heart failure is due to many factors including diet, however over consumption, along with a combination of other factors such as lack of exercise and smoking, is the only diet habit with major influence on heart health.
Constipation also has no direct link to a specific food group, the most likely culprit being excess fiber. According to Mayo Clinic, many other factors instead contribute; see them here:
Humans don"t have crops as birds do for good reason. Birds are small and have small digestive systems, most have a very short and straight tract, little to no digestive enzymes which is why they eat gravel to help pulverize food before regurgitating the gravel among other components I will not bore your with here. For these reasons, avian species have what"s called a "crop", varying in size and shape depending on evolution of need. The major points to know about a "crop" is that is first used as a "doggy bag" for storage, to hold for later consumption as most flight avian species burn a ton of calories during flight; dependent on necessity of lift generation vs in-flight gliding ability. The second reason is to act as a digestive pouch just like a human stomach. Since avian digestive tracts are much smaller and have much weaker digestive fluids as compared to humans, they must digest at a slower pace and with less distance to do so, which means it stays in the "crop" to digest.
Here is a web site to start with avian digestive tracts.
According to the American Diabetes Association, Grains are not a source of diabetes, in fact, it is recommended to eat a diet high in whole grains in part when you have diabetes.
Grains also do not cause tooth decay, PROCESSED grains can ATTRIBUTE to tooth decay with a LACK of additional proper diet. This is because the lack of proper nutrition means your body will start to leach nutrients from other sources. Simply eat right.
The claims of nerve issues and injury and genetic expression need to be proven as this just seems outlandish to even think about.
Rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, asthma, chronic fatigue and depression again are not caused by grains. Please substantiate these claims moving forward.
Of course, humans can eat small amounts of meat and grain without suffering from any disease. I am not suggesting that these foods should be totally rejected from the normal diet. It is just a matter of how much and of what quality that is the point here. I am sure the average human gut could quite adequately handle a diet of 10% meat, 10 % grain, 10 % raw vegetable - the other 70 % should be fruit and cooked vegetables though. This is what I would consider as being the perfect diet that would best suit the human digestive system.
I would suggest any deviation from this average guideline would eventually result in some form of health problem.
Note - Grain food contains no vitamin C or B 12. This can lead to cell starvation and dysfunction.
Note - All white coloured foods are lacking in vitamins. Colour represents the presence of vitamins. Thus, no colour means no vitamins. Thus, avoid white rice, white flour, white milk, white sugar and white bread.
The most important colour in nature is purple. Purple coloured foods are generally the most healthy to eat. This is because the human immune system is iodine based and iodine is purple. Doctors don't want people to know about iodine because it might render their knowledge and training as a useless and time wasting nonsense. The white coats that doctors wear is representative of their stupidity and ignorance of nature. Doctors represent the false world of pharmacy chemicals and the associated deceptions that this brings.
The medical world has strayed far from nature and has forsaken many common sense methods of curing disease. The most forsaken method of curing disease is prevention. By avoiding certain food items, one can avoid illness altogether.
My opponent obviously represents the medical/pharmacy system which is profit orientated and has lost its way due to centuries of deception and false cures. The medical and pharmacy industries would prefer that humans remain in a permanent state of unwellness because there is a lot of money to be made of sick or dying people.
The concept of viruses causing disease is utter nonsense. Viruses are just an imaginary invention of the medical system which came about when it was found that bacteria didn't cause disease. Thus, some other microscopic culprit needed to be found that was smaller than a bacteria and could be easily hidden from the public's notice.
The color purple means what? I'm part of the pharmacy system huh? Viruses are imaginary really?
I see where this is going, thanks for the troll. If you feel like having a legit conversation at some point, feel free to message me, otherwise, I say good day.
