Resolved: Humans are the cause of global warming
The opposition side define:
Humans: people living on Earth
cause: Make (something) happen
global warming: the current situation with the ozone hole and temperature changes...

Contention 1: global warming has been in existent even before the race of humans was on earth
Global warming has been a natural cycle ever since it was born. It is a 100,000 year cycle in which Ice Age happens, and a new age of Earth starts again.[1] If Earth had been in this cycle thousands of years before humans were on earth, how can we say that humans are causing, or making global warming happen? It has been happening for thousands of years, and will still happen no matter whether humans are contributing to it or not. From this, we can conclude that humans are only contributing to it, not necessarily starting it.

Contention 2: There are other factors to global warming
Humans are not the only things that are contributing to global warming. Other things, such as volcanoes, or cow farts (please excuse my language) are massively contributing to it too. When volcanoes erupt, it releases a lot of carbon dioxide, and the ashes from it block the sunlight, causing the temperature to go down (which is a process in global warming).[2]
Secondly, when cow farts, a lot of methane is released, and methane is 20 times effective in trapping heat in the atmosphere [3]
Also, the warm, waterlogged soil of wetlands is prime habitat for the anaerobic microbes that produce methane €" and in general, the warmer and wetter, the more the methane. Since rice paddies are kept underwater during the wet growing season in Southeast Asia and other major rice producing areas, paddies too serve as ideal factories for methane. The farmers use controlled floods, and that's guaranteed to produce methane. [4]

The question I would like to ask is this: how can you say that humans are the cause of global warming when it has been going on for years before humans, and there are other factors contribution to it too?

here, let's leave this one at a tie, open up another debate with me, and you can post that same argument in the new one.
