Baptism:
(in the Christian Church) the religious rite of sprinkling water onto a person's forehead or of immersion in water, symbolizing purification or regeneration and admission to the Christian Church. In many denominations, baptism is performed on young children and is accompanied by name-giving.

If you are baptized, then you have been washed free from sins, declaring your love and respect to God, and symbolizing the beginning of a new life.

However, they don't let them choose their faith.

but christ has commanded us to baptize people as children. if the baby has a christian family, they would sort of have to do that

Baptism is a religious sacrament marked by the symbolic application of water to the head or immersion of the body into water and resulting in admission of the recipient into the community of Christians. It never made mention of you declaring your love and respect to a monotheistic, omnipotent, omniscient God.

First of all, God did not commanded us to baptize "children." Jesus wasn't even baptize as a child. He was baptize by John the Baptist at the Jordan River and he was grown. There are 2 baptisms. One with water (any). And the next one is with fire (not literally fire)... meaning after a person is baptized, he/she must overcome a challenge that will test his/her faith. Of course catholicsm doesn't realize this because their first baptism is wrong. And in the Bible, it says to baptize the "CHILDREN OF GOD." It's not literally saying children as kids. Second, the Roman Catholic started all this.. So it's not Christianity's idea. Christianity and Catholicsm is a very different thing. Catholic also invented Christmas, which is not in the Bible. Also, the image of Jesus that DaVinci invented for the early Roman Catholics are very invalid. Please open your eyes, catholic is a very false religion. Matthew 3:16 "When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He[a] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him." So yeh.. not sprinkling as what catholics said. In addition, the 666 mark is not literally a demon or a beast. On a Bible exposition, it says that the 666 mark is a mark of a false religion that will be exposed and vanquish when the things in the book of Revelations happen. I believe in the Bible but not in catholic. They are not Biblical. On the prophecy, it says that the true religion will emerge from where the sun rises and where it goes down. Which is southeast Asia. If you look geographically, Those nations didn't accept the Bible. But only one country did, the Philippines. "The Old Path." is the most biblical religion there. It says in the Bible that the true religion will not decrease it's people. But will keep increasing. The religion is currently in Philippines, Japan, North and South America, Africa, Paris, Australia, Norway, Brazil, etc. through broadcast. Look it up.
