Apple Iphone is a far better software than any android out on the market. The facts to prove this entails; Apple is the sole provider of the IPhone, whereas the android market is flooded with multiple carriers who have a different say in the software. The Iphone is much more user friendly; due to many suppliers for the android software, each phone is developed differently in operating per provider. The reliability of the IPhone shatters any credibility to any Android operator because of many software issues that come up on a day to day basis with them

Well, since the first round is a shoot out, lets look at the facts:

1) Yes, there is ONLY 1 IPHONE, that is assumed (not factual in any way) to be "universally friendly" to all users according to my opponent, all at one cost for the same iphone, regardless of the plan, only carried on a limited number of carriers. (Sprint, AT&T, Verizon)

2)There are multiple Android Phones (Droids) that distinguish themselves from one another based on software, compatibility, brand, and many other features, varying costs to those who are in a financial struggle, and extremely large variety of carriers and plans. (Cricket, Virgin Mobile,AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and much more!)

3) Let's escape the bias people, everyone sees the Iphone as the better phone, but it simply isn't
Apple is an extremely well known company, founded on April 1, 1976 By Friends Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs and the less well known Ronald Wayne. Since then. Apple has been producing consumer electronics, which have included the famous Macintosh line, and recently, the "Ipod" and "Iphone" lines. People buy these iphones for the hype, for the "It's an apple product!" and "All my friends have one!" hype. NOT because they see it as an amazing phone, but because everyone else is seemingly resigned to this phone, unable to look at the outside world of media, through other useful phones. After looking at my arguments from an unbiased standpoint, let's truly see which is better.

So now, the basics. Iphone or Android?

Let me go ahead and give the cons of an Iphone, and then follow up with the Pros of an Android, my opponent can go ahead and try to refute each one of these, ill give my sources at the end of the case.

Iphones, why they are bad:

First- Internet on the Iphone

The Iphone has both 3g/4g and wifi. But a commonly known fact in the service provider world, that most people don't want you to know, is that when you use your 3g/4g, AT & T and Verizon are simply switching you to their Edge Connection, which is a server that is used strictly for Iphones, that makes your internet slow as can be, and basically doesn't give you the 3G your paying for every month.

Going even further than that, ever notice you can't use anything with Adobe Flash? No Media Players, nothing. This is because Apple wants to restrict your access on the web, to music sharing and playlist sites like Grooveshark. On the Android, your not restricted, in fact there's even a grooveshark app on the Android market!

Second- The Iphone and charging/ updates

The Iphone, like all "Ipod/Iphone" products needs an update every few weeks, or an app update every week. Updates waste time, require you to sign onto 64 page contracts (That's right, 64 page... next time you update your Iphone to the latest firmware or you are updating an app, before clicking agree on that contract, look at the page numbers, should read 1/64 or something like that.) and on top of that, may reset many of the things you keep on you iphone. Also, why aren't you given a wall charger? Why do we always have to plug in our iphones to our computers or go buy a wall charger separately? May not seem like a big deal, but your just wasting more money, and Iphones must be synced to a computer whenever they are restored or you just get one. From there, Itunes will continually pop up every time you sync your iphone, and completely slows your computer. Itunes is just a waste of space, but then Safari and Apple's own media player will automatically download unless you keep deselecting the two items right before every single update.

Third- The constantly demanding cost, and the easy contract extension.

So, lets say you deactivate your iphone, should still work as an ipod touch right? You have $500 worth of Apps and Music on your iphone, but you recently had to cut the bill because it was too expensive (and instead you chose a cheaper and more reliably Droid). Well, let's say you want to at least listen to your songs and play your games, the iphone should let you do that right? WRONG, if you aren't paying them monthly for a $10 Phone made by Chinese Sweatshop workers in Asia, they won't have it (Made in California is false.) "Aww man, well lemee at least try and..." DON'T! After you have deactivated your Iphone, by plugging it back into your computer, it automatically renews a 2 YEAR CONTRACT!!!

Fourth- The Android is far more versatile, and "universally friendly" than the Iphone, and it's pure hype that leaves people wanting more.

This debate isn't about Apple's Macbooks and OS, its about their Phones. As stated before, Apple made itself known through consumer electronics that became a staple for many people who look towards electronics. Their Macbooks revolutionized the world, but their Iphones certainly have not. Iphones are the perfect example of blind spending. Just because a company is well known for a completely different product, you assume "hey let's get this!" or "They make great products, im sure this one is awsome, besides all my friends have one" well, maybe you should look into what your buying. Your buying a completely locked up phone, one that does not allow for really any other brand to even set their foot into. Android allows this. Ever wonder why people Jailbreak their Iphones? It's because it gives NO FREEDOM, no versatility, nothing! In fact, it's the exact opposite! Many People consider the Iphone to be the most secluded phone on the market, with it's lack of Flash which leaves half of the internet blocked out, and complexion that leaves even middle aged men and women clueless. It's only a toy for girls and boys in high school and college, all features of an iphone can be found on many different Androids, which all cost less and have enhanced features of the Iphone!

Now to why Androids are great!

1- Steve Wozniak, Co Founder of Apple Inc. (Which makes the Iphone) Said in his own words, quote "My primary phone is the iPhone," "I love the beauty of it. But I wish it did all the things my Android does, I really do." The only reason he has an iphone is for publicity, he is still represented on the masthead of Apple as a Co Founder even though he is no longer with Apple, and yet behind Apple's back, he loves his Android more, and this is a guy who clearly can afford both, so you can base this quote off the features alone of any Droid, and how they are enhanced, and include freedom!

2-File Management-Using a mobile USB cable that you can buy from any retailer, your Droid can be hooked up to your computer and browsed like any external device. Unlike the iPhone, which locks you down to using a specific app to manage your files, the open nature of Android's OS lets you create folders, rename, delete, reorganize and drag-and-drop from one device to another using your native OS. If you prefer the file organization and sync capabilities of iTunes, check out Astro or DoubleTwist.

3-Apps-You may be shocked to see this one on the list, since apps have always been the iPhone's strongest selling point. The Android marketplace has an equivalent for just about every popular iPhone app, including Flickr (Instagram), Springpad, Pandora and Iris (Siri), but it one-ups Apple on both price and true integration with the entire Google App suite. An impressive 60% of apps offered through the Android Marketplace are free. That's about 33% more than Apple offerings. There may be less Android apps for now, but there is less redundancy. With more and more developers turning to Android, expect it to get even better.

4-Social Networking-An iPhone app exists for just about every major social network, but not all of them offer the full network experience. The iPhone also requires you to run an app or use the browser for social networking. With Android's new People app, contacts are connected with all of their social profiles automatically and accessible through the native contact list.
In the next speech Ill give many more reasons why the Android is better Vote Droid.

I'm sorry to see the forfeiture, my opponent still has one more round left, still, please Extend all arguments made, and i will proceed to add more arguments as stated in the last round.

1. Iphones have two Costs,

One for an 16 GB and one for a 32 GB Iphone, each pricey by itself (not to mention the 2 year mandatory contract) The Android market is so vast, for every Android out their you could make an entire mall out of pure Cell Phone shops, that only sell Droids. Each and every Android is unique in it's own way. Picture it like this,

A) The Iphone Ice Cream Shop sells 2 flavors, Strawberry, and Vanilla. (Black and White)
One scoop is $200 (WHAT?!) (16GB) and Two Scoops are $299 (WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!) (32GB)
The only reason people go here for insanely limited and outrageously priced ice cream is because it's been here for a long time.

B) The Droid Ice Cream Shop (Just opened up!) Sells over 10 Flavors! (Over 10 colors)
One Scoop is Free (Check 2 year contracts for Virgin Mobile and other small service providers) two Scoops is only $50 But then, it also offers a supercharged 3 Scoops for $100 But then, the granddaddy of them all, the 4 Scooper, for $150!! (When i say scoops, i mean Boatloads of ice cream at the Droid Ice Cream Shop) Now, would you like sprinkles with that?

2. Android can Run Multiple Apps at the Same Time

Starting with version 1.0, Android has been able to run multiple applications at the same time regardless of whether they are system apps or apps from the Android Marketplace. The current version of iPhone OS does offer limited multitasking, but only allows native applications such as Mail, iPod and Phone to run in the background. Android users benefit greatly from this discrepancy, as they can receive notifications, listen to music, or even record GPS data without keeping the application open. Apple will try to level the playing field with iPhone OS 4, granting developers access to a small and limiting list of APIs that can run certain services in the background, but it's a long way from the true multitasking that Android has.

3. Android Keeps Information Visible on Your Home Screen

One of the key features Android has is a customizable home screen keeps active widgets right at your fingertips, always accesible and always visible - without having to launch an application first. There are widgets for just about every app in the Android Marketplace from playing music to checking the weather and keeping up to date on Facebook. Meanwhile iPhone users are force to flip through their app list to locate and launch each app. If you wanted to check the forecast, for example, you would have to find the app, launch it, and then wait for it to load. With Android, all of that information can be displayed directly on your home screen, never more than a finger swipe away.
