IVF is a procedure that is generally beneficial to infertile parents everywhere. The procedure does not put the development of the child at risk, nor does it endanger it with birth defects or illness. IVF is helpful to couples who have exhausted other resources, and desperately want a child. In Vitro Fertilization is very costly and doesn't always work the first time. This is not a problem because the cost proves the determination of the parents to care for the baby, and multiple eggs are always harvested so if the first attempt isn't successful there is always another chance.

In Vitro Fertilization can cause multiple problems. Because multiple embryos can be placed in to the women"s uterus it increase the risk of having multiple children at once, which can also cause the children to be born early and have a low birth weight. The HCG drug that a women takes to increase her egg count can also cause the problem of Ovarian Hyper stimulation Syndrome. The cause the ovaries become swollen and painful. Some symptom include mild abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea and can last about a week. However if the women becomes pregnant then these symptoms may last several weeks.

IVF procedures are inherently safeguarded to protect the mother and the embryos. The integrity of the objective, pregnancy, is defined by the health of the mother and the child. Doctors know what to prescribe women for precautionary tactics. "Many women start an IVF cycle by taking birth control pills for a set number of days, to help decrease the Decrease the chances of creating cysts that could interfere with the cycle start. Synchronize the egg follicles so they all start at the same stage, on the date collectively chosen by the doctor and patient. Allow the physician and patient to control the timing of the cycle."
Nurses conduct bloodwork and hormonal tests in order to coordinate the amount of hormones included in treatment with the patient"s body. Nurses communicate frequently with the mother in order to alleviate concerns and to help modify and medications(http://www.mamashealth.com...). The chances of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome are very mild and extremely manageable with seldom need for hospitalization. If necessary, pain medication is prescribed appropriately. A capable IVF doctor doesn't allow for too much medication or FSH stimulation to be administered, which is why there is plentiful communication between the doctors, nurses and the patient(http://www.advancedfertility.com...).
Sometimes IVF can fail due to problems with the uterus or the embryos themselves. There are many procedures at hand that can prevent the wasting of money being spent if someone is not able to have a child. Embryos that aren"t competent enough for implantation will fail. This can be prevented by doing a PGS(preimplantation genetic screening) where chromosomal analyses are completed in order to see if pregnancy will occur(http://www.advancedfertility.com...).

2.One ethical dilemmas is the fact that we can now control the chromosomes of these IVF babies. People can design these babies like shoes now; their gender, their eyes, their hair, anything and everything that is controlled by genetics. Another ethical issue is the controversy of when life begins. Some believe it starts at the moment of conception while others believe it takes a few weeks. For those that believe it starts at conception believe that all viable embryos should be implanted, meaning that storage of the embryos should not be allowed.

IVF is beneficial because we can use genetic screening to prevent chromosomal abnormalities(http://www.advancedfertility.com...),which prevents a variety of mental and physical diseases and disabilities. Primarily, Downs Syndrome is preventable as we are able to verify that the correct amount of chromosomes are present in the embryo. This tool is helpful for screening the embryos and maintaining the implantation of solely competent embryos. Parents whose genetic history are able to be tested with PGS and anuepoloidy tests to prevent the abnormalities in a person(http://genesisgenetics.org...).

Excess embryos are either frozen, destroyed, or sold for other infertile couples. Some issues surrounding this come from people who believe is life starts at the moment of conception. This would mean that when they destroy the embryos they are destroying life and killing a child. This also means that if they froze then they are stopping life from progressing into a full child.

IVF procedures allow for several unused embryos to be frozen for donation of to be destroyed after the procedure was deemed successful. The embryos that are destroyed are not, however, living beings. It is woman's right to determine what to do with her genes, as is the husband's, and they are able to conclusively decide what they want to do with their embryos. If they choose to donate them to infertile couples that may. Ultimately, it is up to the couple to decide whether those embryos are alive or not(http://www.feministsforlife.org...).
The embryos do not have to destroyed, and could potentially benefit many more people than just infertile couples or same-sex partners. Embryos have the capability of providing stem cells for people who need them(http://www.eurostemcell.org...). The benefits that could be are the most rewarding. Stem cell research and treatment could solve many health issues of numerous varieties. Stem cells are harvestable from each embryo, but since it is not being funded it is difficult to bring the process to fruition.
Spare embryos could provide much more than many realize, whether it be advances in medical technology and treatments or the simple joy of parenthood to an otherwise infertile couple.

Some issues of multiple births is that it can cause children to be born early and have a low birth weight. Multiple births can also cause a risk of stillbirth, neonatal death and disability in children born. It is also more likely for a woman who used IVF to have multiple births. 1 in 5 pregnancies from IVF are multiple births. This means there is an even higher chance for children to die or have some sort of birth defect. It also increases the risk of dangerous complications to the mother, such as late miscarriage, high blood pressure and pre-eclampsia.

IVF is a costly, innovative and beneficial procedure. People who otherwise could not have children are able to embrace the greatest gift of life and can do so decisively, cautiously and with determination. IVF procedures are costly but this very cost is what defines the parents" determination to have a child. This shows that they are willing to provide and sacrifice for it(http://www.pbs.org...).
IVF is also a very safe procedure. Doctors and nurses do several evaluations to ensure the healthiness of both the mother and the child. Medications are well monitored and respectable IVF doctors have consistent correspondence with their patients (http://www.mamashealth.com...) so that they know the proper medications and can remain aware of the patient"s health and comfortability during the hormonal treatments that last 10 days before the harvest of eggs. The safety of the screenings also benefits the child, because with PGS analyzations, physical and mental diseases are preventable. IVF is not necessarily abnormal. A woman receives stimulation with FSH treatment for ten days, the eggs are harvested, mixed with sperm and then after a couple of days four eggs are placed inside the uterus or fallopian tube. After two weeks the couple will know if it was successful or not. If it is successful, then although the couple may visit the doctor gradually, the pregnancy is normally carried out as with in vivo fertilization.

"It is important to note that the rate of BIRTH DEFECTS in humans in the general population is about 3% of all births for major malformations and 6% if minor defects are included. Fortunately, 20-plus years following Louise Brown"s birth, we now have ample data that children conceived through IVF have no increase in these rates of birth defects,"(http://www.healthline.com...) and this is key to the realization that there are no additional dangers to children involving the implementation of IVF, and it can only benefit them as they will be screened for hereditary diseases.

IVF is a safe method for pregnancy that has more safeguards against birth defects than does traditional pregnancy thanks to PGS and other methods of assured fertilization and growth.

One major legal issue is who gets to keep the embryos after a divorce, or who gets to decide what"s done with them. If one parent wants to destroy the embryos, the other must agree or they can"t be destroyed. As of now there no federal statutes that provide a uniform consensus on resolving the disputes over the ownership of pre-embryos. In conclusion IVF should not be used for infertile couples because it can cause more problems than it does help the couples. If the woman gets pregnant but ends up having multiple kids that cause early births or birth defects or even miscarriage, it can do more harm than help.
