There is tons of scriptual proof to support my argument and i will post that when this debate is excepted.

Thank you Cg09 for starting this debate.

Before I begin I would like to analyze the resolution. Note how the word "and" is used, signifying that both "the Trinity" AND "saying Our Fathers" are a part of the resolution. So I would only need to show how one of those ideas is supported by the Bible. I would also like to point out that the resolution uses the IDEAS of the Trinity and saying Our Fathers, not the specific words themselves. So I would not have to find a specific mention of these terms, merely a reference to the idea.

So, to summarize, I only have to show how the Bible supports the idea of the Trinity.

While it is true that the word "Trinity" is not explicitly stated in the Bible, the IDEA of the Trinity is still present. For reference, here is the idea of the Trinity, by definition of Merriam-Webster:

"the unity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as three persons in one Godhead according to Christian dogma"

Now, although one would never see the Trinity referred to as "the Trinity" in the Bible, the idea of the unity of 3 beings as 1 God is certainly supported. Here are some verses where the Bible refers to such an idea:

Genesis 1:26 " ... Let us make man in our image ... "

John 5:18 " ... calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God. ... "

John 10:33 " ... I and the Father are one ... "

2 Corinthians 13:14 " ... The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all ... "

There are many more, but I feel these are sufficient enough to prove that the idea of the Trinity is supported by the Bible.

My opponent has a formidable argument but I will try to negate nonetheless.

"This round was forfeited because the debater did not post their argument within the allotted time."

Ah. Nevermind. Extend all my points.

You can discuss whatever. Right now it's going to act as a temporary forum until we get one here.

They say any day now, but they said that at the beginning of August.

Once the domain get's set up, we'll spread it around here in the comments.

Vote bombing sucks.

And I joined, but what is the site for? To discuss debate.org?

We're working on the "fan site" thing.

We've decided to use DebateF.com, I already bought it.

Right now it's being set up to go to the forum I made, but it's not working yet. Takes up to 48 hours.

Head over to http://debateelite.bbspoint.com...... for now and join.

The .com will be working soon.

Uhhh... Cg09, you're an idiot. Our fathers were taken from the bible. I'm not a biblical scholar, so I don't know what the verse is, and frankly I don't feel like finding out, but basically, Jesus is asked how one should pray and he uses the our father as an example. That's why it's called the Lord's Prayer, as he made it up.
