A person with good intentions I think should not be punished for something they did. For example if you performed CPR on a man and broke their ribs in the process and got sued do you think it is fair for you to be sued? You did save the man's life and all. Also is it wrong to do things for what you believe in? Should a christian be punished for praying if someone does not like them praying? I don't think so at all. It is what they believe in and they should not be punished for annoying or frustrating anyone around them because of it. These two situations apply to Hitler. Hitler was a man with good intentions: he thought killing the Jews would cleanse the world and he believed he was doing the right thing. So surely he should not be punished for his crimes. (I don't actually think Hitler should not pay for his crimes but I would like to debate on this topic nevertheless)

If your beliefs are harmful to another person's welfare then yes, you should be punished for it. Indeed, if I believed that somebody was ugly and that I should tell people what I think, would it be morally ok for me to tell somebody they were ugly every day? No, it would be hurtful and unecessary. Praying is not harmful physically or psychologically to another individual, though you could say it's harmful to the one praying as it is simply increasing their belief in a delusion. However that is another debate.

Yes, if you believe in something that requires the suffering of somebody else, then your beliefs are wrong. If you carry out your beliefs, then you should be punished for it. But only in the case that it causes actual harm. If somebody just doesn't approve of something you do, that doesn't count as harm. Therefore, your analogy about praying is not in any way helpful to a debate about whether or not Hitler should be punished for the Holocaust because of course he should be. He killed billions of people, beliefs of supremacy are only fantasies we allow people to have on the condition that they don't attempt to bring them into reality and start harming people. However this has happened far too many times in History.

Oops, meant millions. Tbh, after a few million people, the crime can barely get any worse can it?

Hoping this was a typo on your part JayConar "He killed billions of people". Although I do have to agree with you on the rest of your argument.

This should be easy for Pro. Your included analogies completely fail to present a logical argument. Hitler was responsible for initiating World War Two--by invading Austria, Czech Republic, and Poland--therefore he was responsible for the estimated 60 million people killed during it.

In addition, he also set up concentration camps in which six million Jews were killied due to being gassed, burned (alive) in ovens, starved and diseased.

Of course he should punished.
