Illegal Immigration is currently a problem in the U.S. Why? These Illegal Immigrants are taking jobs, not paying taxes, and not waiting in line like others do. They currently occupy 8 million jobs, ones which could be taken by legit U.S. citizens. They don't pay nearly 2 million dollars in taxes. As well, many people wait in the immigration line. Yet these people think that they're better, or have a better reason than the people waiting.

There are currently 11 MILLION Illegal Immigrants in the U.S. (mostly occupying Texas/California). Illegal Immigration is not okay, and we should put a stop to it.

Pro

it would cost billions of dollars to get all of the illegal immigrates out of the country and do keep them out.

However, I never mentioned taking Illegal Immigrants out of the U.S. I was simply talking that we should stop letting them in. If you do want a solution to removing all Illegal Immigrants from the U.S., then the best solution is to just make them legit citizens.

It would still cost way to much to up the boarder control when our country is still in debt today. We aren't worried of them starting war with us so there is no threat and are money should go to other things that need it.

Everything costs money of course, it's the base of our country. But do you think that if we're in debt, we should give up on border patrol to save money? My guess is no. Our government is heavily in debt, but did you know that 1/3rd of the debt is owned to itself? Or to be more specific, the Federal Reserve. Which is part of our government (but still technically a 3rd party). Our government can get out of debt if it wishes, however that is another debate.

Illegal Immigration is bad, cleanly put. If it costs money to stop, then oh well. I guess we'll go more in debt by what you're saying. However we do need to stop this, or at least attempt to. As well, did you notice that they don't pay $2,000,000,000 in taxes a year? While not a lot compared to our debt, this number of unpaid taxes by Illegal Immigrants will increase as more come in our country. This is our country, let's keep it clean.

I know we spend money for every thing but its not needed. We need to focus on paying back our debts not spending where we don't need to. The point is that we need to put our money where we need it not where the government wants it.

Reasons for voting decision: I'd advise Con to pick the correct side next time. Arguments: Con made a few good arguments, while Pro stuck with "it costs too much." That argument is a weak one when discussing Government programs, and it never addresses how expensive except in R1. Con refuted the claim by showing how much taxes Illegal Immigrants don't pay. Neither side provided sources.

Reasons for voting decision: Honestly, I do not think both pro and con argued for their positions. Con's arguments, which are supposed to be in favor of illegal immigration, actually substantiates Pro's stance. Pro, on the other hand, failed to provide any arguments to back his stance. Although there were specific numbers presented as evidence, there were no sources. This discredits the evidents that back the arguments. I feel that there are way more points that could have been discussed in this debate.
