My opponent has stated that he will quit, so I will not put forward any arguments, as my opponent will most likely not participate in this debate. If my opponent plans to participate in this debate, then I will provide my arguments in the next round.

Because my opponent has forfeited, I will just provide one point, so my one contention would win against zero contentions. A path to citizenship will not solve the immigration problem. In 1986, the Immigration Reform and Control Act passed, granting a path to citizenship to an estimated 2.7 million illegal immigrants that were living in the United States at that time. However, according to a 2010 Department of Homeland Security study, only 40% of those immigrants became citizens by 2010. This shows that many illegal immigrants would not even take a path to citizenship. Also, a path to citizenship will encourage future increased illegal immigration. In 1986, there was 2.7 million illegal immigrants in the United States. However, since then, that number is over 4 times that amount, as more people are crossing the border, hoping that they too would be granting a path to citizenship. This shows just another harm of a path to citizenship, as it would encourage future illegal immigration, and not solve the immigration problem.
