Debate Round No. 1

Battle Strategies

I am confident that everyone reading this is familiar with the powers of these two characters, so allow me to jump right into the battle strategies that Superman could utilize against the Hulk.

1. Calm Him

Pro may not be aware of this, but these characters have already fought. Superman won.

Hulk punches Superman into the next county before either is familiar with the other's power level. After that, even a fully enraged Hulk couldn't make Superman budge. Supes just stood there, absorbing each blow while perfectly calm. So calm, in fact, that he has time to formulate a plan, move faster than the Hulk can see, and then gain his trust with a few words, all while Hulk is attacking Superman with everything he's got. This clearly demonstrates that not only is Superman stronger, faster, and smarter than his opponent, but he also knows just what to do and say to transform Hulk back into a human. Pro loses the debate right here.

Still, to be sporting, here are a few other ways Superman could easily dispatch the Hulk.

2. Pummel Him

I've already established that the Hulk's punches mean nothing to Superman. This is a guy who took the full blast of a supernova and was "dazed for a micro-second" ( Now that Superman's familiar with his power level, there is nothing Hulk could do to hurt him.

Not to mention, Hulk would never lay a finger on the guy if Superman didn't want him to. Superman can think and react at faster than light speeds, meaning that he can see any punch from the Hulk coming a mile away and either catch it (, avoid it (, or vibrate his molecules so fast that it would phase right through him (

Superman, though, could knock the Hulk out in less than a second. Here are a few Superman highlights that show the difference in their strength levels:
Holding a black hole in one hand -
Pulling a dozen planets on a chain with ease -
Destroying an entire solar system with a sneeze -
Breaking the face of a Doomsday clone in one punch -
It is clear that Hulk, whose most impressive feat of strength so far is holding up a mountain, is simply outclassed.

3. Fry Him

Marvel has a character named Gladiator, who is essentially a weaker version of Superman [1]. Observe this clash between Gladiator and Hulk ( Gladiator"s eye beams tear away Hulk"s skin and begin burning his organs, and Hulk admits that he will die if he doesn"t stop them. Now, there are three reasons why Superman would be successful where Gladiator failed.

First, Superman"s heat vision is stronger. Gladiator"s eye beams are assumed to be hotter than a star, but Superman"s are confirmed to be so hot that science cannot measure them ( Note as he completely incinerates an entire army of Doomsdays in one blast ( Destroying Hulk with an equivalent blast would be simple.

Second, Gladiator"s powers are based on his current level of confidence; the less confidence he has in himself and his victory, the weaker he becomes. At that point in the battle, Hulk had beaten him bloody, meaning those lethal eye beams were actually much weaker than normal.

Thirdly, and most importantly, Gladiator was about 10 feet away from the Hulk when he unleashed his attack. This allowed Hulk to walk right over and stop him. Superman, who has engaged Hulk in battle before, would know to attack from a greater distance. A few hundred miles away, perhaps ( Maybe even a few hundred thousand ( Either way, Hulk would be incinerated before he knew what was happening.

4. Toss him

Speaking of space, hurling Hulk out of orbit would probably be the quickest and easiest way to dispose of the beast. Moving faster than Hulk can see, let alone react, Superman could simply grab him and throw him toward the sun. He could even freeze him first for good measure ( Fight over.

The Hulk doesn't stand a chance here. Not only is Superman stronger, he is faster, smarter, more durable, can fly, can shoot fire from his eyes and ice from his mouth, can phase through punches, etc. etc. Hulk brings nothing to the table in this fight. He's simply out of his league.

I will directly jump on the strategies Hulk will do in defeating Superman.

But before that, let us look both our heroes' superpowers and abilities in their modern incarnations from legitimate sources.

1.) Superman - "After Byrne's departure from the series, Superman's powers and abilities were once again increased over time. He regained the ability to travel interstellar distances and to hold his breath for the amount of time required to make such journeys. His strength, speed, and sensory abilities were again increased, although not to Pre-Crisis levels. The comparative weakness of the Superman character to his Pre-Crisis incarnation was definitively shown during Infinite Crisis. The Superboy-Prime character, endowed with nearly the same power levels as the Silver Age Superman, was capable of defeating large numbers of DC universe heroes, including the Teen Titans and many members of theGreen Lantern Corps. The Modern Era Superman and his Earth 2 counterpart were only able to defeat Superboy-Prime after plunging him through Krypton's red sun, thereby reducing his powers. "

2.) Hulk - "The Hulk possesses the potential for limitless physical strength depending directly on his emotional state, particularly his anger.[45] This has been reflected in the repeated comment, "The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets." After probing, the entity Beyonder once claimed that the Hulk's potential strength had "no finite element inside."[46] His durability, regeneration, and endurance also increase in proportion to his temper.[47] Greg Pak described the Worldbreaker Hulk shown during World War Hulk as having a level of physical power where "Hulk was stronger than any mortal—and most immortals—who ever walked the Earth."[48]

The Hulk's level of strength is normally limited by Banner's subconscious influence. When Hulk allowed Jean Grey to psionically "shut Banner off", he reached a scale of power on which he managed to overpower and destroy the physical form of the villain Onslaught.[49]

The Hulk is resistant to most forms of injury or damage. The extent varies between interpretations, but he has withstood the equivalent of solar temperatures,[50] nuclear explosions,[51] and planet-shattering impacts.[52] Despite his remarkable resiliency, continuous barrages of high-caliber gunfire can hinder his movement to some degree, and this has been consistently portrayed outside the comic books, in both live-action films and animation. He has been shown to have both regenerative and adaptive healing abilities, including growing tissues to allow him to breathe underwater,[53] surviving unprotected in space for extended periods,[54][55] and when injured, healing from most wounds within seconds.[56] As an effect, he has an extremely prolonged lifespan.[57]

The Hulk's powerful legs allow him to leap into lower Earth orbit or across continents,[58] and he has displayed sufficient superhuman speed to match Thor,[59] and Sentry.[60]

He also possesses less commonly described powers, including abilities allowing him to "home in" to his place of origin in New Mexico,[61] resist psychic control,[62] or unwilling transformation;[63] grow stronger from radiation[64] or dark magic;[65] and to see and interact with astral forms.[66] The Hulk is also able to generate omnidirectional "worldbreaker" bursts of kinetic energy that completely shook the United States & could potentially destroy the world or the planet he is standing on .[67]

In the early days of the first Hulk comic series, "massive" doses of gamma rays (such as from the explosion of a hand-held nuclear grenade) would cause the Hulk to transform back to Bruce Banner, although this ability was written out of the character by the 1970s.

As Bruce Banner, he is considered one of the greatest minds on Earth. He has developed expertise in the fields of biology, chemistry, engineering, and physiology, and holds a Ph.D. in nuclear physics. He possesses "a mind so brilliant it cannot be measured on any known intelligence test."[68] Bruce Banner also makes use of his intelligence to create highly advanced technology labelled as "Bannertech", which is on par with technological development from Tony Stark or Doctor Doom. The most common Bannertech Bruce uses is a force field able to shrug off blows from Hulk-level entities, along with a teleporter, which can be used to transport an unknown number of people. Bannertech is also used by Amadeus Cho, as well as the Hulk persona itself.

In The Science of Superheroes, Lois Grest and Robert Weinberg examined Hulk’s powers, explaining the scientific flaws in them. Most notably, they point out that the level of gamma radiation Banner is exposed to at the initial blast would induce radiation sickness and kill him, or if not, create significant cancer risks for Banner, because hard radiation strips cells of their ability to function. They go on to offer up an alternate origin, in which a Hulk might be created by biological experimentation with adrenal glands and GFP.

Charles Q. Choi from further explains that unlike the Hulk, gamma rays are not green; existing as they do beyond the visible spectrum, gamma rays have no color at all that we can describe. He also explains that gamma rays are so powerful (the most powerful form of electromagnetic radiation and 10,000 times more powerful than visible light) that they can even convert energy into matter - a possible explanation for the increased mass that Bruce Banner takes on during transformations. "Just as the Incredible Hulk 'is the strongest one there is,' as he says himself, so too are gamma ray bursts the most powerful explosions known."[69]

Let us now go into Hulk's strategies of beating Superman:

1.) Kryptonite him

Everyone knows that the Man of Steel's weakness is certainly the Kryptonite of any type. A small sniff or a small touch from Superman's skin or the presence of it 10 meters away, will deteriorate his powers causing Superman to experience anxiety, madic episodes or hallucinations.

2.) Assault him

With the Kryptonite taking effect, Superman couldn't do anything but hope for the Justice League's help, but sadly, Pro only had the resolution of "Superman vs the Hulk" and thus no aid from outside parties are allowed.

While Superman is in his "weak" form, the Hulk will bestow upon him a thousand "Hulk Smashes" in Hulk's highest possible rage form,a thousand "thunder clap" on Superman's head and thus worsening the manic activity inside his already damaged brain then get a meteor from outside the planet, as big as the state of Texas and drop it on the site where Superman, who cannot move, is. Imagine such impact as 100000 x greater than the famous "Tsar Bomba".

3.) Make him beg

Assuming superman can still stand from the furies of Hulk. He would later found out, after waking for several days, that he is inside a room. He tries to make a run and destroy the wall only to see himself falling down to the ground. He then saw the "green" smoke being put inside and realized that it is the same Kryptonite he suffered. He begged Hulk to stop, only to be replied that his "blood" has been turned to Kryptonite in liquid form. Not only that, Superman is actually on a mountain made of entirely Kryptonian. A mountain together with the efforts of scientists and engineers was made possible. A mountsin far from civilization. A mountain stricly guarded with weapons specially made from Kryptonite. A grin from Hulk is seen after seeing his rival begging him for mercy.

I await your rebuttals. I wish my opponent the best.
