In the US, eliminating the national debt ought to be a higher priority than societal economic good.

READ BEFORE JUDGING/DEBATING... this is intended to be a Lincoln Douglas debate including value and criterion. As in every LD round, the Affirmative (or Pro) starts. After that, I will give my case and rebutal.

-Brief explanation of the debate- This is an economic debate and is fairly self explanitory. Is the good of the society and the amount of taxes more important than the amount of debt we have. In other words, is ignoring the debt worth the good of the economy as long as it is better with more debt as it has shown to be in the past few years. Basically... Is raising taxes to prevent debt worth it?

Good Luck

Well, since my opponent never posted his case I don't know if he wanted to make this an LD round, but just for the sake of argumentation, I will start with just one argument and see where my opponent wants to go from there...

-If having debt helps society, than it is better.
--->This argument is quite simple, sometimes we need to go into debt in order to help our society. Such as taking out money to buy something THEN paying it back, but what you have to see is that paying it back should only be done when it is appropriate and does not hurt society more than it overall helps it. That's why the good of society should be prioritized over paying off the national debt. Therefore, I urge you to vote Con.

Thanks and good luck to my opponent if he manages to post a response.
