Burden of Proof is on both sides
I feel that an interstellar Empire would be possible, how it would be accomplished who be interesting. An interstellar Empire could travel to the stars by using relativity which slows time down allowing 40 years to pass in our time while on the ship only 2 years.
It could also enter a different dimension like Star Wars' Hyperspace with all the distances much smaller.

I'll be showing that even though having an interstellar empire sounds like an amazing possibility, the fact of the matter is that"given current scientific understanding"these aforementioned empires are simply pipe dreams. With our current level of scientific progress, it simply is not feasible to have an empire of that size.

I await your opening statement.

Supplies
Supplies are no problem as if I send a colony ship then a week later send another ship etc it will be new supplies coming every week for the colony.

Getting there
I showed in my first post that it is possible to get around the No Faster than light rule. But even if those don't work you could cryogenicly freeze people to transport them. You could even make generation fleets though they would be hard.

Setting up
At first this would be hard as we would have to find planets to live on, but eventually would be able to terraform them.

I mean roaming over many different Star Systems, probably at least 50 planets.

To a degree. We could rule star systems which are up to several dozen or even a few hundred light years away. Of course, communication with these colonies would be an extremely tedious and time-consuming process. One might send a message to a colony for which a reply would be received over 200 years later.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by interstellar empires? Do you mean nations that range over different planets? Solar systems? Galaxies? Or perhaps mobile nations that can travel interstellar distances?
