Batman does not have any superpowers, there for rules out the super part, this means he is only a hero.

Let's go on a definition journey...

Superhero: "a benevolent fictional character with superhuman powers, such as Superman." [1]

Superhuman (powers): "having or showing exceptional ability or powers: the pilot made one last superhuman effort not to come down right on our heads" [2]

Exceptional (ability): "unusually good; outstanding: a child of exceptional ability" and "unusual; not typical: late claims will only be accepted in exceptional circumstances"

My stance is that Batman does have outstanding and unusual abilities, which are therefore considered superhuman and consequently means that he is a superhero. Nobody else in Gotham, his fictional city, manages to solve crimes and catch criminals -- not even the police. The fictional people of Gotham are in awe of Batman's cognitive ability, physical strength and courageous nature.

Batman doesn"t have super powers, so technically he"s not a super hero at all. He"s just a hero. You know who else is a hero? Every single mother who suffers through a underpaid, under -appreciated job so that her kids may have a decent chance in life. Wanna be a hero as cool as batman? Get knocked up by some loser who won"t take his responsibility! Also your saying he has superhuman strength so do firemen, they have to carry people out of burning building but guess what they are counted as eheros not superheroes.

To counter your firefighter and single mother argument, I refer you back to the definition of a superhero:

Superhero: "a benevolent fictional character with superhuman powers, such as Superman." [1]

Real life heroes are not ficticious, but Batman is.

I therefore uphold my original argument from round one.
