Former NFL center Frank Winters has stated that Brett Favre is a top 5 NFL player of all time. I agree with Winters. Brett Favre in my opinion is the 4th best QB in the league. My rankings of top NFL players of all time are:
1.Joe Montana
2. Tom Brady
3. Jim Brown
4. John Elway
5. Brett Favre
You may ask, where is Dan Marino, where is Peyton Manning, where is Lawrence Taylor, where is Terry Bradshaw? Check out these records Brett Favre has broken over his 20 years in the NFL:
-Most passing yards
-Most touchdowns
-Most attempts
-Most consecutive games started
-Most pass completions
-Most victories by a starting QB
-Super Bowl MVP
Also, at ages 37, 38, and 39, Brett Favre had some of his best seasons. At age 39, he led a team to overtime of the NFC Championship game in the toughest place to play, the super dome. He was already a fist ballot hall of famer. Not too many players could lead their team at age 39.

Farve is not a top 5 QB of all time, much less player. To put him ahead of Jerry Rice the greatest Football player of all time is unfathomable .Montana is not at the top of the list with Taylor and Brent Jones as his go to pass catchers. Jim Brown is definitely top 3. What that man did so far ahead of his time and in such a short amount of time may never be duplicated. Lawrence Taylor forever changed the game. The speed, strength, size , and motor combination was once in a life time. That's 3. Joe Montana was clutch and played bigger on the biggest stage than anyone. He did not win one of those rings without the receiver from Mississippi Valley State. #80 was able to hoist the Lombardi trophy with out Joe though. Now to the fifth greatest player of all time Reggie White the most physically imposing D Lineman of all time. Brett would be ringless if it wasn't for the minister of defense. He was the piece that got the pack over the top. As good as
The gunslinger was he wasn't the game changer or clutch performer that these legends were.
QB's 1.Joe Montana 2. Terry Bradshaw 3. Johnny Unitas 4. John Elway 5.Tom Brady
