jashmodi1234

Pro

Cruze is better because it gives more horse power torque and pickup in less cost.
tejretics

Con

I accept. The burden of proof lies entirely upon the Affirmative. The Affirmative's onus will be to establish an objective criterion for what can be classified as "better", and to affirm that such an objective criterion actually exists.

The negative's position shall be that the term "better" is inherently subjective.
Debate Round No. 1
jashmodi1234

Pro

jashmodi1234 forfeited this round.
tejretics

Con

The affirmative has still failed to fulfill their burden of proof. Since the onus probandi is not split evenly, I need only forward the previous points to uphold my burden. Thus, I extend what I wrote in round 1.
Debate Round No. 2
jashmodi1234

Pro

jashmodi1234 forfeited this round.

Con

My opponent, the affirmative, has still failed to fulfill the burden of proof. As such, I need only extend all presented points, and the affirmative's failure to fulfill the onus probandi allows me to gain the instant victory without presenting any arguments. As such, I extend all previous points and/or arguments.

Pro

Con

I forward the point of contention I made regarding the lack of an objective criterion as to what can qualify as better, as the Proposition has failed to respond to this contention, nor have they established such an objective criterion, or fulfilled their burden of proof.
Debate Round No. 4

Pro

jashmodi1234 forfeited this round.

Con

I forward all contentions, and request all judges and voters to please vote in favor of the opposition.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct - Con. Pro forfeited every round of this debate, which is rarely acceptable conduct in any debate setting. S&G - Con. I can only evaluate one round from Pro as it's the only round he submitted anything in. However, in that one round he failed to properly place commas where needed, evidenced here: "it gives more horse power torque and pickup in less cost". On the flip side, Con had no grammatical errors whatsoever. Therefore, Con wins S&G. Arguments - Tie. Pro presented an argument but then failed to provide any proof to those claims as evident by his following forfeits. Con challenged him to provide an objective criterion but never presented any arguments himself, thus this remains a tie. Sources - Tie. Neither utilized sources in this debate.

Reasons for voting decision: FF. Con's argument was in simple terms that pro needed to argue, which pro did not even attempt to do; not something I'd normally award more than conduct for, but it is 100% victory on all arguments put forward, so what the heck. ... And very nice presentation con, maybe a little much on the bolding, but thank you for using bold instead of ALL CAPS like some people.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro failed to provide an argument *and* forfeited all remaining rounds, therefore conduct goes to Con.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct to Con as Pro FF'd. Con wins arguments as Pro had the BOP, but provided no further arguments than a bare assertion, and did not respond to Con's request to establish an objective criterion for the superiority of Chevrolet Cruze, thus failing his/her BOP.

Reasons for voting decision: I don't know why con had to bold every other word, but due to pro's forfeiture con receives conduct.
