I believe that Cholesterol is not bad for you, and would like Pro to try and prove otherwise. Please be respectful when posting both comments and arguments. Thank you.

I believe that cholesterol can be bad for you if it's taken in high quantities. I am sure that you are aware that there are two types of cholesterol;
1-low density lipoprotein (bad cholestrol)
2- high density lipoprotein (good cholesterol)
and also I am sure that you are aware that cholesterol is ONLY found in animals not in plants, so eating much cholesterol means the excess cholesterol will be converted into fat. so in conclusion, cholesterol is bad for you, ONLY if it is taken in an unhealthy way.
thank you

According to http://www.heart.org...

LDL (Bad) Cholesterol
'LDL cholesterol is considered the "bad" cholesterol because it contributes to plaque, a thick, hard deposit that can clog arteries and make them less flexible. This condition is known as atherosclerosis. If a clot forms and blocks a narrowed artery, heart attack or stroke can result. Another condition called peripheral artery disease can develop when plaque buildup narrows an artery supplying blood to the legs.'

(Good) Cholesterol
'HDL cholesterol is considered "good" cholesterol because it helps remove LDL cholesterol from the arteries. Experts believe HDL acts as a scavenger, carrying LDL cholesterol away from the arteries and back to the liver, where it is broken down and passed from the body. One-fourth to one-third of blood cholesterol is carried by HDL. A healthy level of HDL cholesterol may also protect against heart attack and stroke, while low levels of HDL cholesterol have been shown to increase the risk of heart disease.'

However, these statements can be misleading. Yes HDL keeps you from having to much LDL, but why do we even have LDL in the first place? LDL or Low Density Lipoprotein is essential for the development of new cells and the protection of arteries.

All kinds of Cholesterol are important for the human body. The dangerous build up of cholesterol we see in people now days isn't due to more cholesterol intake, it is due to other problems that the body is trying to fix by flooding the body with LDL cholesterol. Dangerous high Cholesterol is a symptom rather than the disease.

And as for to much cholesterol being unhealthy. You can say that about literally anything, and if you don't believe me just check out these links...

In conclusion: cholesterol plays a major part in human health, and should be looked upon as a blessing rather than a curse. Because after all our brain and cell membranes arguably the two most important parts of the body need cholesterol, so obviously it can't be all that bad. Thank you.

well, I thought that you were debating that cholesterol is not bad at all not matter the amount it is taken in. But I find cholesterol quite harmful for you especially in high quantities. But if you think that we kind of agree on the subject then u can delete the debate and start over with someone else, i'm totally fine with it lol
