Thanks for posting this debate, looking forward to it.

1. Definition
The Biblical definition of God is 'one that which none greater can be conceived'
We can back this up with our usual conception of a 'god'. It is ominpotent, omnipresent, immutable etc. The 'omni' nature of god defines its very nature as 'as great as anything can possibly be'

2. Concept
To start, god is something we can conceive. We have this notion of 'god' that we are debating right now. So, we must ask ourselves, which is greater, a mere notion of an 'omni' god, or an actual existence of one.

3. Existence
Clearly, the actual existence of this 'omni' god would be greater, not necessarily better, but greater, as in 'considerable in degree'. The real existence of god extends god's degree past the mind, making it its existence greater than its concept. Rather than simply being fathomed in a mind, the omnigod would be able to exert its omni powers on the omni world. (wait, one too many omnis)Anyway, the actual existence of a 'god' would be greater than a mere concept of one, so, because god is the greatest thing we can possibly conceive god MUST exist.

Thanks for posting this, looking forward to your reply.

Sorry to see my opponent couldn't respond. Hope you get a chance to submit round 3.

Extend all of my arguments

1. That the Biblical definition of God is 'that which none greater can be conceived'
2. That an existing God would be greater than a conceptual one
3. That God MUST exist because it is defined as the greatest conception and existence fits that definition

Thanks.

Controlling our every move is a problematic stipulation here. Not hard to argue for the existence of a god, but against free will makes the Pro much harder to posit.
