Who doesn't like Halloween? Everyone from little kids to older adults heart's fill with joy with just the mention of the holiday. It also brings out diverse people considering anyone can celebrate the holiday. You just need a costume and candy and BOOM! You have Halloween! And to top it all off the holiday is in the fall, who doesn't like the fall weather and the environment? The colorful and crunchy leafs, the crisp weather that's not too cold or not too hot, perfect setting! Halloween is ten times more fun then Christmas!

I believe that Christmas is much better than Halloween solely because Christmas is about being with your family and giving and receiving. Everyone gets excited when Christmas is near. It's a time to be with your family and just be happy. On Christmas you receive presents and you give presents, and who doesn't love presents!? Christmas time is awesome because there's the Christmas tree, all of the decorations and around Christmas time you bake all different types of Christmas cookies which are absolutely delicious. All children love Christmas and get super excited when it comes near. Plus, kids get off from school for Christmas. So, Christmas is just overall better than Halloween.

Yes, Christmas is a fun time, but only for people of the Christian faith. Christmas is not an inclusive holiday for everyone, people who have different faiths, such as Muslims or Jews, cannot celebrate Christmas, meanwhile, everyone can participate in Halloween. Anybody can put on a scary or funny costume and go out to a party and go trick or treating considering its not a strictly religious holiday. And as an added bonus, no annoying holiday music that you are forced to listen to for about a month. Just one fun, odd day of pretending to scare people and eat large amounts of candy, fun for everyone!

Some people of different religions don't celebrate Halloween, for example Orthodox Jewish people. Also, not everyone can eat candy for health reasons so your argument that everyone can enjoy Halloween is false. Halloween can also be a very dangerous holiday. People have gotten very hurt on Halloween. Halloween is for people who like to dress up, people who like scary things or for people who like candy, but not everyone likes those things.

I believe Halloween is better than Christmas, and that Halloween is an underappreciated holiday. Yes, as you said, some people can't have candy for health reasons and that, but that's the same for Christmas. I got just as much candy as I did for Halloween. Halloween is a time to have fun, and dressing up and being themselves, and maybe having a little mischief. While for Christmas, you're forced to wear a scratchy, ugly sweater, go to church, and spend time with family that you may or not like. Then you open presents, and that's fun and all, then you fill yourself full of food and that. In my opinion Halloween is the better of the 2, and is very underappreciated.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct - Tie. Both had proper conduct throughout the debate. S&G - Tie. Both had adequate spelling and grammar throughout. Arguments - Con. While pro built a compelling case for halloween, Con was able to show the familial time and present giving which outweighs getting dressed in costumes and receiving candy. Furthermore, Pro argued that not everyone celebrates Christmas but Con was able to flip that back by showing that not everyone celebrates Halloween. Overall, Pro's arguments were refuted effectively by Con. Since Con was able to stop Pro from affirming the resolution fully, Con wins arguments. Sources - Tie. Neither utilized sources in that debate.
