No, most certainly not. People have not looked deep into the religion. for starters, people use ISIS as an example. However, ISIS has violated too, too many things about Islam for them to be part of it. Eg.) killing is only allowed in war, and muslims are NOT allowed to start wars, they can only defend. also, there are specific conditions about other times when its allowed. people also bring up the fact that the Quran encourages the slaying of disbelievers. No, these people are stupid, and narrow-minded. They haven't even proper;y read the book. There are several other ways to deal with disbelievers that are also mentioned. Those verses were revealed in times of war and strife. These are just some examples. People these days are narrow-minded, and don't investigate things properly. Like those news stories of Muslims killing soldiers, or shooting random people. After investigating, those people were revealed to be on drugs, depressed, and mentally ill. Please, also read Ayatollah Khamenei's letter to the youth, too, and open your minds, haters.

Thanks very much my opponent for opinions which are not fact as you fail to provide concrete evidence to back them up, and therefore they can not be relied upon. I would like to define the main subjects of your debate topic.

the religion of the Muslims, a monotheistic faith regarded as revealed through Muhammad as the Prophet of Allah.

2. the basic cause, source, or origin of something.

the earth, together with all of its countries and peoples.

a matter or situation regarded as unwelcome or harmful and needing to be dealt with and overcome.

Islam has been the cause of the world problems in many ways and some of them include Jihad,Islamic terrorism etc
The beginnings of Jihad are traced back to the words and actions of Muhammad and the Quran . [1] This encourages the use of Jihad against non-Muslims. [2] The Qu'ran, however, never uses the term Jihad for fighting and combat in the name of Allah; qital is used to mean "fighting." The struggle for Jihad in the Qu'ran was originally intended for the nearby neighbors of the Muslims, but as Islam expanded through conquest, the Quranic statements supporting Jihad were updated for the new adversaries. [2] The first
documentation of the law of Jihad was written by 'Abd al-Rahman al-Awza'i and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Shaybani . The document grew out of debates that had surfaced ever since Muhammad's death.

Islamic terrorism is, by definition, terrorist acts committed by Muslim groups or individuals who profess Islamic or Islamist motivations or goals. Islamic terrorists have relied on particular interpretations of the tenets of the Quran and the Hadith's, citing these scriptures to justify violent tactics
including mass murder, genocide , child- molestation and slavery. [1] In recent decades, incidents of Islamic terrorism have occurred on a global scale, occurring not only in Muslim-majority states in Africa and Asia, but also abroad in Europe, Russia, and the United
States, and such attacks have targeted Muslims and non-Muslims. [2] In a number of the worst-affected Muslim-majority regions, these terrorists have been met by armed, independent resistance groups, [3] state actors and their proxies , and politically liberal Muslim protesters. [4]

Terror attacks by Islamist extremists to further a perceived Islamic religious or political cause have occurred globally. The attackers have used such tactics as arson , vehicle rampage attacks, bomb threats, suicide attacks, bombings, spree shooting, stabbings , hijackings, kidnappings and beheadings . The following is a list of Islamist terrorist attacks that have received significant press coverage since 1980.

April 18, 1983 " The April 1983 U.S. Embassy bombing , in Beirut, Lebanon by the Islamic Jihad Organization . 63 dead, 120 injured. [1] October 23, 1983 " The 1983 Beirut barracks bombing by the Islamic Jihad Organization . 307 dead 75 injured.

What might have been "the worst terrorist episode of the twentieth century in the Middle East," succeeding in killing only 6 people because of the bombs' faulty rigging. [2]
September 20, 1984 " The 1984 United States embassy annex bombing in Beirut , Lebanon . 24 dead. April 12, 1985 " 1985 El Descanso bombing . 18 dead 82 injured. December 21, 1988 - 1988 Lockerbie bombing 270 dead, also includes 11 on the

To name but a few, I am looking forward to a well decisive debate so please try and provide concrete evidence for your arguments. Thanks once more and I am awaiting your upcoming views.
Debate Round No. 1

You do not have valid points. Those are facts, but only in the basic sense of the word. Actually, to be even more precise, these "facts" are merely opinions proposed by the media, and islamophobic individuals. Muslims doing evil acts does not make the entire religion evil. I dont think you understand this. Also, these references are derived from extremist events. It is said in the Quran to live peacefully with those who do not expel you from your homes, or wage war against you. Extremists have defied this principle, and have ignored the other solutions given by God Almighty. Extremists like ISIS, and the Salafi movement have defied some of the most important principles sent down by God. The salafis have openly claimed that Prophet Muhammed will not reach Heaven. He is the most Holy individual in Islam, and the Prophet of God. How can that kind of extremist even be CONSIDERED to be a muslim?
Also, these extremist attacks are actually sponsored by countries like the U.S. and Israel, as said by Global Research-
What is unfolding is a process of "constructive chaos", engineered by the West. The destabilization of Iraq and its fragmentation has been planned long ago and is part of the "Anglo-American-Israeli "military road map" in the Middle East", as explained in 2006 in the following article:

"This project, which has been in the planning stages for several years, consists in creating an arc of instability, chaos, and violence extending from Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria to Iraq, the Persian Gulf, Iran, and the borders of NATO-garrisoned Afghanistan.

The "New Middle East" project was introduced publicly by Washington and Tel Aviv with the expectation that Lebanon would be the pressure point for realigning the whole Middle East and thereby unleashing the forces of "constructive chaos." This "constructive chaos" "which generates conditions of violence and warfare throughout the region" would in turn be used so that the United States, Britain, and Israel could redraw the map of the Middle East in accordance with their geo-strategic needs and objectives. "

The redrawing and partition of the Middle East from the Eastern Mediterranean shores of Lebanon and Syria to Anatolia (Asia Minor), Arabia, the Persian Gulf, and the Iranian Plateau responds to broad economic, strategic and military objectives, which are part of a longstanding Anglo-American and Israeli agenda in the region"

A wider war in the Middle East could result in redrawn borders that are strategically advantageous to Anglo-American interests and Israel"

Attempts at intentionally creating animosity between the different ethno-cultural and religious groups of the Middle East have been systematic. In fact, they are part of a carefully designed covert intelligence agenda.

Even more ominous, many Middle Eastern governments, such as that of Saudi Arabia, are assisting Washington in fomenting divisions between Middle Eastern populations. The ultimate objective is to weaken the resistance movement against foreign occupation through a "divide and conquer strategy" which serves Anglo-American and Israeli interests in the broader region." (Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya, Plans for Redrawing the Middle East: The Project for a "New Middle East", November 2006)
Your claims are too unrealistic. How can attacks like these represent almost 2 billion people??? That's just illogical. The good done by Muslims is just overlooked. Muslim organizations like HOPE and the Shahid foundation are not getting the right credit.

Jihadist organizations are extremist parties and are not supported wholly across the Muslim Ummah. People take a few incidents, and magnify them, like what you did. You need to understand that extremist movements are not accepted by the Quran, and people like you have misinterpreted the meaning of it. Please do more research before coming back with an argument, and on-biased ones at that

Thanks very much my opponent for your argument which is completely irrelevant as you fail to attack the topic at hand and failing to completely refute my argument, which has completely expose your inability to debate this topic well.

#1) 8,000 deadly terror attacks committed explicitly in the name of Islam in just the last ten years. (Other religions combined for perhaps a dozen or so).

#2 Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, had people killed for insulting him or for criticizing his religion. This included women. Muslims are told to emulate the example of Muhammad.

#3 Muhammad said in many places that he has been "ordered by Allah to fight men until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is his messenger." In the last nine years of his life, he ordered no less than 65 military campaigns to do exactly that.
Muhammad inspired his men to war with the basest of motives, using captured loot , sex and a gluttonous paradise as incentives. He beheaded captives, enslaved children and raped women captured in battle. Again, Muslims are told to emulate the example of Muhammad.

#4 After Muhammad died, the people who lived with
him and knew his religion best immediately fell into war with each other. Fatima, Muhammad's favorite daughter, survived the early years among the unbelievers at Mecca safe and sound, yet died of stress from the persecution of fellow Muslims only six months after her father died. She even miscarried
Muhammad's grandchild after having her ribs broken by the man who became the second caliph. Fatima's husband Ali, who was the second convert to Islam and was raised like a son to Muhammad, fought a civil war against an army raised by Aisha, Muhammad's favorite wife - and one whom he had said was a " perfect woman." 10,000 Muslims were killed in a single battle waged less than 25 years after Muhammad's death.
Three of the first four Muslim rulers (caliphs) were murdered. All of them were among Muhammad's closest companions. The third caliph was killed by allies of the son of the first (who was murdered by the fifth caliph a few years later, then wrapped in the skin of a dead donkey and burned). The fourth caliph (Ali) was stabbed to death after a bitter dispute with the
fifth. The fifth caliph went on to poison one of Muhammad's two favorite grandsons. The other grandson was later beheaded by the sixth caliph. The infighting and power struggles between Muhammad's family members, closest companions and their children only intensified with time. Within 50 short years of Muhammad's death, even the Kaaba, which had stood for centuries under pagan religion, lay in ruins from internal Muslim war... And that's just the fate of those within the house of Islam!

#5 Muhammad directed Muslims to wage war on other religions and bring them under submission to Islam. Within the first few decades following his death, his Arabian companions invaded and conquered Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist and
Zoroastrian lands.
A mere 25 years after Muhammad's death, Muslim armies had captured land and people within the borders of over 28 modern countries outside of Saudi Arabia.

#6 Muslims continued their Jihad against other religions for 1400 years, checked only by the ability of non-Muslims to defend themselves. To this day, not a week goes by that Islamic fundamentalists do not attempt to kill Christians, Jews, Hindus and Buddhists explicitly in the name of Allah. None of these other religions are at war with each other.

#7 Islam is the only religion that has to retain its
membership by formally threatening to kill anyone. who leaves. This is according to the example set by Muhammad.

#8 Islam teaches that non-Muslims are less than fully human. Muhammad said that Muslims can be put to death for murder, but that a Muslim could never be put to death for killing a non- Muslim.

#9 The Qur'an never once speaks of Allah's love for
non-Muslims, but it speaks of Allah's cruelty toward and hatred of non-Muslims more than 500 times

"Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!"
(The last words from the cockpit of Flight 93)

From the above, one will definitely conclude that Islam is the root cause of world problems,so please my opponent stop posting irrelevant material and try to refute my argument with concrete evidence if you can. Thanks once more and good luck
Debate Round No. 2

Firstly, you have failed to list your sources. My arguments at notin fact irrelevent. You are utterly wrong. You have zero knowledge whatsoever on Islam, and so your point are useless. You are simply listing attacks from mainstream media sources. This has properly proved your inability to state valid points, and you have ignored the fact that the Quran teaches against extremist ways. The problem here lies in your severe ignorance about Islam. You are using indoctrinated points, and can not be trusted. I have knowledge of Islam, and I know it's teaxchings very well. You have said that Islam IS the rootof this world's problems. That is highly illogical. There are many problems in this world, and Islam cannot possibly be the root. Just because they SAY it is in the name is Islam , it does NOT mean it's accepted. They are fighting for their own cause, but proper Muslims dejected this. Unfortunately, you are looking at only one perspective. Simply doing an acction in the name of Islam does not make it accepted. You have failed to understand this.Simply doing research alone won't help, it needs to be valid. Your research is incomplete anyways. You need to learn about the religion before simply blaming Islam. I if you don't know anything, your claims are all empty.

It seems you have forfeited due to some reason I do not know. Very well. I will attackthe false version of Islam that you conjured. The history you have found the perspective of the extremist movement. This is their point of view on our prophet and his ideals. You cannot simply look at one part of something and then draw conclusions. You have not read the proper history of Islam. , and even then , you have lots of research to do. You would have to go through proper and accepted history authenticated by righteous scholars , not YOU. You need to research the proper Shia and sunni history and go from there. Extremists act on THEIR OWN ideals. Islam does not endorse them. If you actually read an ponder upon theQuran, you might get it. Instead of this you are most likely just using Google. That's not research, that's surfing the web. How on earth can you test the authenticity of your sources. Mine are the quran, and legitimante scholars who know far better than us both, and are much against extremism. It is hard to debate on this with you due to your ignorance on Islam. One must study very deeply, and receive information from proper, learned men taught in islamic institutes. Also, don't be so one sided. Do serious investigation on the media. My points are not irrelevant , however it is you who is at fault. You are continually making baseless accusations and your refusal to go back and research. Look past your enmity andtry to learn more about Islam. Again , attacks happen because of the extremists own personal devotion. If I killed an innocent man in the name of Jesus, does that make Jesus himeself bad? No , of course not. It was my free choice to do that act, andthat's like the extremists. They kill innocents in the name of god and Islam , it was there choice. Islam as a whole does not support it , and that's what matters. They make that choice out of their own will ,and are guided by thei twisted ideals. You can't ppossibly blame a whole religion for its outcasts. Islam and prophet Mohammed have stronglu condemned unjustified acts of brutality , if you do proper research . Now , please stop saying my arguments are irrelevant, and stop repeating yourself. You cant blame the world's problems on just a few thousand fools. They have lost the righ to represent Islam. Look at the bigger picture.

7. There are an anomaly of verses in the Quran that negate the ideology that people who leave Islam should be killed. That is a preposterous idea brought up by fabricated hadiths.
8. Once again a fabricated and idiotic statement never supported by the Quran.
9. Really, because I can give you over 200 verses about how Allah advocates love for everybody...
In fact I want you Pro, to give me any Quranic verse and I'll not only give you a verse about Allah's mercy towards all of mankind, but I'll refute your prejudice and ignorance with knowledge. As a major in religious studies, I guarantee I know much more than you on the truth of Islam. You don't even know what Jihad means. It has nothing to do with war. It means inner struggle.
If you are reading this, be smart and vote con.

"Pro" is a maniacally ignorant and idiotic individual that views himself as an "expert" on Islam.
I know Con's intelligent and unbiased mind already debunked most of the idiocy that came out of Pro's head but as an actual religion expert, let me tell you why absolutely everything Pro stated was either wrong or out of context.
1. Your argument falls awry when you say that deadly attacks simply happened in the NAME of Islam. Nope, not from a revelation of the Quran but just because a group of savages claiming to be Muslims carried out attacks.
2. The prophet never killed anyone for just insulting his religion, in fact he only killed people while in war AKA on the battlefield. Give me any incident and I'll prove you wrong. In addition, Muslims (including Muhammad) are told very specifically to ONLY the Quran, not the fabricated Hadith or stories that you claim are a part of Islam and the Quran never tells you to go out and kill infidels. That is absolutely preposterous and you can never prove that point unless you take a verse out of context.
3. Again your points are based upon fabricated stories labelled Hadith. Muhammad is the perfect example of following the quran and nowhere is it said that any of the absurd ideas you state should be done within the quran.
4. What does this have to do with Islam. That's the problem of Muhammad's dearest family members. Their quarrel is never signified or glorified in the Quran nor are said actions.
5. Once again, fabrications and accounts taken out of context. Muhammad has said multiple times that he respects other religions and nowhere in the Quran is unnecessary violence against other religions advocated.
6. Talk about redundancy. All you've done is show meaningless and fabricated/taken out of context statements and accounts of people who may have been Muslim or claim to have been. Islam should not be judged using the people who follow it but the book that teaches it(Quran).
