Hello!

Welcome to this debate. The first round means nothing, so comment whatever you want for the first round. Technically there will be only four rounds, so good luck!

Communism is extreme socialism.

Socialism demands a greater re-distribution of money. You pay taxes, and your government pays back in welfare and public works.
In communism, you get a world of sharing. Ideally there is no such thing as private property. Everything is public property, since all property is redistributed so that everyone is equal. This means an end for government, since it is assumed that people can share equally.
Realistically, communism is impossible because people are naturally selfish and always want personal gain in some form, whether monetary or emotional.
In the real world, the only two recognized communist countries are North Korea and Cuba. All other countries are a mix of capitalism and socialism because socialism enables financial and social stability because there's a smaller wealth gap from taxes and welfare.

They aren't remotely the same thing. Yes, one can lead to another, but they aren't the same system.

Look at Canada. They have socialist ideals economically, but are not a Communist state.

Of course Socialism isn't the same as communism, this is going to be an argument of definitions.
