I think that a college education is worth it. One reason I think this is because studies show that people on average will make $1,000,000 more in their lifetime than if they didn't go to college. Also, if you are a high school dropout you are probably going to have a job at a restaurant where you will be paid about $10 an hour, however, if you finish high school and college, you can land a much better job depending on what you major in. You can't even work at McDonald's anymore if you don't have a high school degree. This is important because it shows that you will get very few places if you never go to college. Although, IF you get lucky, you could become a famous You Tuber or something else that could get you a lot of money even if you are a high school dropout or you never went to college, however, that is very unlikely.

Hello, JJ_is_HERE, and good luck.

"One reason I think this is because studies show that people on average will make $1,000,000 more in their lifetime than if they didn't go to college."

Where is your evidence/citations for this information?

"Also, if you are a high school dropout you are probably going to have a job at a restaurant where you will be paid about $10 an hour, however, if you finish high school and college, you can land a much better job depending on what you major in."

Correct. If you finish high school, there are plenty of well-paying jobs for you, such as a UPS driver, in which the average UPS driver gets paid $30 an hour. Therefore, college could potentially help you, but isn't necessarily needed.

College isn't necessarily needed and isn't necessarily worth it. Firstly, college creates problems such as student loan debt for the student. This debt can cause the student to have to live with their parents and be financially unstable for a long period of time. In 2016, about 42 million American college students owed $1.3 trillion in student debt, and 45% of the students said college wasn't worth it. Secondly, college isn't even affordable to many because of the expensive tuition fees. The average cost of tuition fees for a public two-year college is $3,440. The only way someone could pay these without going broke is if they're fairly wealthy. Thirdly, many people succeed without going to college already. Yes, of course people like Jake Paul have, but many other types of workers have, such as the average UPS driver I mentioned above and any other people who work for similar jobs that pay well. For these reasons I say college could help if you have the right resources, but for most, it really isn't worth it.
