Baseball is not a sport because it is not in the Olympics ! That"s logic right there. To all those people out there saying that figure skating is not a sport well you are wrong because figure skating is in the olympics!

Thank you for this debate...

Okay, this first round will be pretty short. I just want Know why and how my opponent can say baseball isn't a real sport? He need to bring evidence on why it isn't a Sport. And just because it wasn't in the Olympics for some time doesn't mean it not a sport.

"While there are reports that the New York Knickerbockers played games in 1845, the contest long recognized as the first officially recorded baseball game in U.S. history took place on June 19, 1846, in Hoboken, New Jersey: the "New York Nine" defeated the Knickerbockers, 23"1, in four innings". (1.) https://en.m.wikipedia.org...

"Baseball at the Summer Olympics unofficially debuted at the 1904 Summer Games, and became an official Olympic sport at the 1992 Summer Olympics. The event was last played in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing with South Korea taking the gold. In 2016 it was confirmed that Baseball would return for the 2020 games in Tokyo. Olympic baseball is governed by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF)". (2.) https://en.m.wikipedia.org...

I will go much more in detail in the later rounds on why Baseball is in Fact a Real Sport...

Looking forward on what my opponent have to say...

Baseball is in fact a sport. While it has not been in the Summer Olympics since 2008, the World Baseball Classic is held every four years, with the last series being held in March 2017. The contest is held every four years, and it features 16 countries, who have to previously qualify for the tournament. Each country features players that play professionally both in the United States, as well as other countries professional leagues.
Aside from baseball not being in the last few Olympics, the sport has featured some of the greatest athletes to ever walk the face of the Earth. Sports scientists argue that one of the hardest things to do in the sports world is to hit a well placed pitch. While baseball does not require as my physical athletic ability as other sports, it requires the athletes to have incredible reaction time, as well as mental toughness. In what other sport could you succeed 3 out of 10 times, and be considered a hall-of-famer? None. You hit 3 out of 10 free throws- benched. Complete 3 out of 10 passes- benched. Save 3 of every 10 shots- benched.
Outside of statistics, baseball, like any sport, takes years of practice. Any athlete who aspires to succeed in a sport, including baseball, has to work hard and be dedicated to what they are practicing. No one is going to walk up to a pitchers mound and throw a 94 mile per hour fastball for a strike, with an 80 mile per hour curve ball to accompany it. On the flip side, no one is going to walk up to home plate facing a professional pitcher and be able to touch a fastball without years of practice and experience.
In conclusion, most people who argue that baseball is not a sport are actually 1- not athletes or 2- someone who has tried baseball and not succeeded in the sport. Those who understand baseball understand how tough the sport really is.

so if baseball isn't a real sport because it isn't in the Olympics, then shouldn't Football not be considered a sport? your point is very invalid
