In a world full of scientific discovery is creationism still a viable way of thinking? With great amounts of observable and scientific data, Science makes creationism an inadequate form of thinking. Creationism basically states that an all powerful being created everything in the universe. If in fact, creationism is true then how can you account for such similarity in genes of species on earth? In the study, Gene Ontology: tool for the unification of biology, it states that " Genomic sequencing has made it clear that a large fraction of the genes specifying the core biological functions are shared by all eukaryotes." This similarity of genes must speak for the fact that all living things on earth have a common ancestor that lived long in the past. For Christianity, in particular, we find that Christians believe that the earth is only 6,000 years old. Carbon dating has proved that several rocks have been dated millions of year before the earth was supposedly created. The idea of Creationism can not be viable because of the vastness of the evidence against it.
