Disney channel is putting out mindless garbage in front of our children. I mean really look at some of their shows. How long do you think it took them to come up with "Dog with blog"? If Walt Disney could see what has become of his company! Disney programs used to invoke children's imagination, not make them want to gossip about which teenage boy has the cutest face or who likes who! Boy what happened to mickey mouse and Donald duck? Every time I walk into a room with it on my head hurts!

Hello you see The Disney Channel is going an different direction now instead of the regular cartoons they have turned their focus to more teaching shows much like what PBS. Of course its more mature than PBS but that is the thing Disney Channel wants to tech children about the real world more or less. Shows like ANT Farm though not totally in reality teaches about friendship and Dog with a Blog teaches about talent hard work per pressure ect. Also when kids or teenagers start to date some of the TV show gives lessons about love and how to react or not react when dating. Please answer soon.

I see while the shows have an overall moral to them they can often have small recurring pieces in them that aren't so good. In "Jessie" the characters are often rude to one another commenting on physical differences such as weight , strength, or facial features. They also will solve their problems using inappropriate violence, tricks, or other mean tactics to achieve their goals. "The children in "Jessie are wealthy and don't have to worry about anything but trying to solve the problems that they always cause by either weaseling out of them or hiding them from others, always trying to get away scotch free, and have a perfect happy ending.

Being rude and making fun of someones weight or appearance is what some nasty people do in real life so by showing kids that Disney is teaching the children about how to deal with a situation like that. In jessie the kids eventually realize that to overcome the problem they must band and relaying on each other and the fact that they use some mean and tricky ways to get of their problems just show that you must sometimes think out of the box to solve things and that somethings are bad ways to do it and others are good ways. Also the fact the the kids are not all ways caught and try to weasel out of a situation just shows that some people (despite not being true) think that there is no consequences.

I would have loved to take the PRO side of this debate. It is true, the Disney Channel is full of brain-rotting garbage. Worst of all, it teaches teenagers to be very disrespectful to adults by portraying them as stupid, clumsy "party-poopers."

Reasons for voting decision: Despite it's forfeits, I think there is adequate evidence on both sides to provide a reasonable RFD. Con all but confims the resolution in round two. His affirmation of the themes presented in Jessie are evidence of this fact. The belief that somehow these negative influences in the show are positive is non conclusive. Pro does speak to the negative influences in discussing that these negative behaviors result in a positive outcome.
