If god doesn't knowing what yearning feels like, he isn't all knowing but if he does, he isn't all good. So, god might not be real.

Thank you, and that was my final argument. Forfeit?

How is that an argument. God created everything in the universe, every detail, every aspect. A deistic God cannot be limited to the scope of texts as the one real God may not be the God in the text you are using to ascribe him. A deity that created every fabric of the universe and every detail, literally knows everything.

missmedic you seem to have a fundamentally flawed view of free will. I know that you typed a comment on here, my knowing that does not preclude your free will from having posted it. You are simply seeing time linearly. For God all time is at once. He knows what you will decide, as he has seen you decide it already. It doesn't change the fact that you decided it.

um huh? Consider life like a book, you could skip to the end to see how it turns our or read it from the beginning all the way to the end. If God is all knowing it doesn't mean he skipped to the end of the book. One thing has nothing to do with the other.

With god knowing the out come of Adam and Eve, God put all the parameters in place to ensure failure of his "test" knowing how it would end. In this way god can assign responsibility for a fault, and blame humans for Original Sin. And punish children for the sin of the parent, which had to be his plan all along, because god knows everything.

missmedic the tests are not for God but rather for those whom are being tested. Like a teacher, they already know the answers, but the test helps show you what you know and what do you not know.

missmedic:
Two days ago I "tested" a lady working at Godiva Chocolate. I asked if she knew what their logo (a naked lady on the back of the horse) meant.
She said she did not. I said, "Hmmm ... I wonder ..."

But actually, I already knew the history and just wanted to see if she did.

Just because someone tests another one does not mean that they do not know the answer. Teachers do this all the time.
To answer your question: "why would he test them":

... Isn't it obvious? ... ... they test them to see if they can come up with the right answer, or think about it, or go and search the right answer out.
Read Job 38-40: there G-d asked Job 97 questions, all rhetorical. It was meant to PROBE Job's thinking into the magnificence of CREATION and G-d's handiwork. G-d wanted Job to think deeply, and He asked him questions to elicit those answers and make Job think.

Abraham was tested Adam and Eve were tested, this would suggest that god does not know his creation's mind or the choices they will make, otherwise why would he test them.
