Every once in a while, you are bound to hear someone say, "This tastes almost as good as (insert close relative)'s."
I believe this is actually true more because of sentimental reasons over taste reasons. People feel nostalgia for the days when family meals were more commonly eaten together. Although in the criteria of taste, maybe the relative has had more experience with food over the course of their lifetime. This would lead to seasoned cooking skills.

I thank Pro for making this debate.

At this point it seems my argument will center around 2 main point.

  • It is my view that it is impossible to objectively prove a subjective view.
  • Given the variety of culinary skills of both chefs and laymen any subjective metric used would on an average score the restaurant higher than the layman.

I look forward to hearing Pro's argument.
