I accept the debate. This is a hot topic because the U.S. presidential election is approaching.
It is taken place on November, 2012. It is ideal that a president caters both to the rich and the poor.
However, unfortunately, I believe that it is not possible to elect the supreme political leader who can live up to their expectations. I am planning to present my main arguments for Round 2.
Good luck.

If by "cater" you mean provide financial assistance of some kind, I'd argue it's almost impossible to elect a president who caters to only one of rich or poor. In other words, to do so you'd need a president who either eliminated all welfare programs or eliminated corporate crony capitalism. You can't possibly lose this debate, if anyone will take it.

How about President Bill Clinton? He was president who catered both to the rich and poor during his presidency.
