You should learn a language because you need it for university.
If you go to that country of that language you can speak it
smlburridge

Con

But you don't need to go to foreign countries.
And plus, immersing yourself in a foreign language, culture, or nation would probably get you to learn that language much faster than academic studying.

Pro

But if you get a job in another country you will need to speak that language to understand the person your speaking to.

Con

*If* you get a job in a foreign country.
There's plenty of jobs in the United States.
Even so, most well to-do businessmen internationally at least speak a little English, so that they can communicate online and overseas. Immersing yourself in the culture, as I have said before, is a much faster way to learn a language than academically.

Pro

I might not want to work in the USA because I might want to work for Bugatti and there based in Germany or something else.
smlburridge

Con

If you want to work for Bugatti, it'd probably be good to have a fluent knowledge of French on your resume (they are based in France). But not everyone, as I have said before, goes to work overseas. The vast majority stay in the United States. So what practical reason is there for this majority to learn another language, if they'll never use it in the rest of their lives?

Also, you'd think the higher-ups at Bugatti would at least know a little English, yeah?
English is the language of business. If a company wants to go international, they need to have some knowledge of it to succeed.

You don't need to travel to foreign countries, though.
