You have caught a prisoner in a war, say in Iraq.
During the fighting, he shot and killed your best friend!

Should you be allowed to take revenge on him, by subjecting him to torture?
Wylted

Con

I would say no. There is no benefit to doing it. Sure it provides an emotional relief but whats the point? It accomplishes nothing, and to make matters worse it sets a bad precedent that encourages enemy soldiers to do the same.

Pro apparently needed a quick answer as whether revenge torture was okay, because the rounds are only 15 minutes. I can only assume that pro did not get his answer in time so he went with his own judgement and is currently torturing the guy who killed his friend. I urge pro to step away from the ball gagged, hooded victim and remove the nipple clamps. Do not take the law into your own hands sir!!!!!

Con

Please deduct conduct points from pro for implementing torture on an enemy combatant, in direct violation of the Geneva convention.

No, my fianc" doesn't like to get rough with me. This is despite all the effort I put into making her hate me. I guess some fantasies are never meant to be fulfilled.

Torture obviously does work. Sure when used on innocent victims it gets fake intel but when used on people who have actual intel it works like a charm.

Torture does not actually work, empirically speaking. To me then, all torture is something like revenge torture. It is a sick thing...

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct goes to Con for not forfeiting; S&G was tied as far as I could see; Arguments go to Con for successfully refuting Pro's argument; Neither used sources so that is tied.

Reasons for voting decision: Nothing more than assertions, plus how biased I am against this keeps me from voting arguments. However the forfeits always affect conduct. ... And yeah, I worry there might have been someone tied up, and he was trying to get a very quick answer.
