Soccer is in fact a sport.

False. Soccer is merely a recreational activity. Compared to the likes of football, hockey, baseball, and even cricket, of which require actual stability, coordination, strength, speed, and intelligence, soccer is for incoherent fools whom lack the said skills of any sport. To even be considered as a challenge at an international level is obscene and takes the spotlight away from much more interesting and difficult sports.
Debate Round No. 1

Funny how you said baseball is sport!

The definition of sport is as follows:
"An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment"

Thanks to:

To which, Soccer in fact is a sport. It has physical exertion, (running 90 minutes with a 5 minute half time), foot work/passing skills are needed to get around other players. And finally it is a team sport. Where it goes against other teams.

With that definition, anything could be accepted as a sport. You stated that soccer is a sport and provided a definition along with examples. I applaud you for your consistency, but there appears to be no possible way for me to prevail in this argument. Soccer is certainly not the most exciting sport to watch, but you do garner some sort of physical activity and exercise from it.
Debate Round No. 2

Yes soccer players get a workout from this SPORT. While Baseball all you do is run bases, catch balls, and hit balls. Not that exciting to watch. If you would say to watch a soccer game on tv, like someone said on here before, once a goal is scored it gets really loud, and the announcer sounds as he is having an orgasm. While during baseball you never hear it get that loud or hear the announcer do that.

Girl, you couldn't play any of those other sports if you tried. If you back up soccer as much as you say you do, I don't know what to tell you. Goodness, you set this argument up for me to lose and I hope you're happy with yourself.

7 points to Pro. Reasons for voting decision: Soccer is a sport. There is no debate. The definition of soccer starts with "a sport".

Reasons for voting decision: This debate was pretty much pointless. Con was fighting an uphill battle but neither side used great reasoning. Basically, the argument came down to the definition of sport, which should have been defined right away. Con should have examined the definition more thoroughly and shown that Pro does not provide an operational definition of "physical exertion" or "skill", two terms that are in hot debate when considering whether competitive activities such as Video Games or Chess are sports. Pro, you did not construct a good debate or good arguments, but Con should not have given up so quickly, or so easily.
